Fun fact, the F-22 is the first fighter aircraft in the US military designed to cruise at supersonic speeds. Yes, I said cruise... as in, it isn't using afterburners, which suck fuel like no one's business. In Red Flag matchups, a pair of F-22s will decimate entire squadrons of 4th Gen fighters without ever so much as being engaged.

That's incorrect, the only aircraft that went Mach-3 was the SR-71. It flew at an altitude of 80,000 feet. The speed, design, and material it was of made it undetectable by radar. It wasn't a stealth bomber like the B-2 or F-117. It was a spy plane. Yet satellites are being used for that these days. That plane has been retired since the 90's.

Yeah, all that 1776 and 1812 stuff is over. That was a long time ago. After watching The History Channel I think it may have been "A Christmas Carol" that healed the rift, of all things. The story of Ebeneezer Scrooge was very powerful, and universally loved on both sides of the pond. Americans identified with these characters. We were somewhat re-Britified. Then more recently with bands like the Beatles and BBC programming, America has new shared cultural bonds. Yes the world wars of course, but cultural is very important too.

Btw, my manager was an Air Force veteran and she said they have surveillance and radar systems that monitors the country 24/7. If someone like another fighter jet from an enemy tries to cross our air, they would know and they’ll send a fighter plane to communicate to that pilot to turn back or engage. Over the years, Russia has been doing this to test and see if our detection system is working. It’s like a warning that if we take our eyes off for a few minutes or if they somehow hack and disabled our system, they will attack. This is why cyber warfare is important because so many of our weapons are guided by technology.

It is however important to remember that the U.S(Which I love as a born citizen) regularly switches stances in foreign policy based on whichever political party is in charge and our nominal allies or countries that want to be our allies might not necessarily be able to count on us depending on who is in control or the situation. I cannot blame the Philippines for looking elsewhere for friends even if it's obvious that where they are looking for friends is wrong. Served on USS JFK and when you commented on 'you could be on them for months, and not meet everyone' that is true! When deployed, a carrier has a crew of about 5,000 people, and it isn't a town, though it is as large as a small town. The "gangs" don't really exist, but there is a bit of divisional play, like between engineering and operations, etc., but it is good natured fun and sailor hazing for the most part. Ultimately, you will NEVER meet everyone on a carrier, we are too busy to really socialize outside of our jobs. Hazing example: Electronics - Get some fallopian tubes for the radar. Engineering - Go get a BT punch. General stuff - Send a guy to watch for the "cable" over the Strait of Gibralter, or I need 20 feet of chow line. That's fun :) Love the videos, by the way :)

Hey Marine, I wanted to welcome you to the largest multinational family in the world ... US citizenship. My father was naturalized (from Canada) along with his parents. He taught me how important it is to defend the freedoms that we enjoy. e stood in defense of your homeland during WW II, as a bomber pilot over Germany. After surviving that, he was retrained on the B-29 and was deployed to the Marshall Islands in the south pacific theater to fight Japan. He crashed a sea, but was rescued by the Navy, he was badly injured, but survived. I followed in his footsteps and became a pilot through USAF ROTC in college. I volunteered for service and I was honored to serve. I flew the KC-135 air refueling tanker, a force multiplier (when you saw the B-2 taking fuel air to air, It was from a KC-135). I flew them in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and my aircraft was over 20 years old at that time. They are still flying them (B-2 refueling for example) and will continue to do so for at least the next 20 years. You were correct when you said :that we know of". For instance, they did not mention the B-21 Raider. This is the next stealth bomber. The B-21 prototype was designed and tested in 1 year! Like the F-117, it was accomplished in total secrecy, but it is out there now. Oh, that was a spitfire that you saw! Cheers!

@@goldenhate6649 I'm fairly certain even some missiles are guided with Xbox controllers, with cameras on the missile to see what it sees. They can deploy the missile and guide it through a door that's cracked open and hit a specific person in the building.

As a scientifically minded person I was obsessed with joining the Air Force as a child. Every kid says they want to be an astronaut, but I had a planned path. At a young age I noticed most astronauts had been experimental pilots. So that waa my goal. Become an experimental pilot for the USAF. Unfortunately, I was told at 17 that I was far too tall to pilot jets so I had to go with my secondary goal and start a biological research firm. I would still love to fly in a jet, but being tall, it seems I would have to build one myself which is unimaginable. Lol

I served 3 years on an aircraft carrier while enlisted in the US Navy. 3 years, and I was still meeting people (who've been there for as long as I have) for the first time all the way up until my last day onboard. You absolutely can go years without meeting everyone. In fact, it's closer to impossible to actually meet everyone onboard.

Maybe one of the other 7,400+ comments mentioned this, but the Minuteman III is being replaced by the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD). As noted in the video, the MM III design has been around for 50 years, though admittedly upgraded during its lifespan.

Your comment about the lives that these missiles could take just in the attack ! Let alone what might happen afterwards such as fallout or what it might do to the atmosphere around the world ! So I totally agree that hopefully we never have to find out what will happen if such attack or attacks takes place !

Yes, that was a spitfire. They do here what they call Heritage flights where they'll usually have something like a P-51 Mustang leading a line of progressively more modern aircraft at airshows. The one that springs to my mind first is always the large airshow that kicks off Thunder Over Louisville each year which in itself kicks off a two-week long party culminating in the Kentucky Derby each year.
