As a kid I used to live near Valkenburg marine airbase. I could always hear the turboprops of the Atlantique at night. In bed I imagined the submarine hunt. Exciting thoughts about hunting Sovjet subs. Love these memories. Unfortunately Valkenburg naval base is dismantled. And now the navies of the West must hunt Russian sabotage warships that can damage our cable and pipeline under the seafloor. I wonder how our Marines operate these days.
