Is it just me but Donnie voice is not at the front of this song at all I have heard it stronger when it started you could hardly hear him for the orchestra there I still felt his voice should have been far far more prominent love Runrig ❤️ ♥️♥️♥️

I am sure Donnie would be up for that - it just needs a promoter to put it together.

Donnie and Pete Wishart both left to pursue careers in politics. Donnie was unsuccessful in his bid to become a Labour MP in 1997 and an MSP in 1999, while Pete became an SNP MP in 2001 and still is.

This song is a true scotch traditional. But Donnie Munro put it up to new heights. Well... If there ever might be a scotch independence... This might be a scotch anthem? ;-)))

Donnie Munro was Runrig. He made Runrig a truly Scottisch band. After he left they took a Canadian singer, what can I say. He is not half as good as Donny. And above that: this song belongs to Munro, more than to the last Runrig line-up.
@martyncheung79826 жыл бұрын
Garbage Callum and Rory were runrig. The songwriters behind the band and formed the band. Donnie phenomenal vocalist but Bruce Gutro ensured runrig was brought to another generation and that they lasted 45 years. I'm sorry comment of pure ignorance
@kwikbit4 жыл бұрын
Donnie was great with Runrig . Bruce was equally good. If you actually listen to Donnie's voice, it ain't what it used to be (and this was 2014). Some of Runrig's best songs and performances are with Bruce. They just are. Both singers kept this band as one Scotland's best kept secret for decades. BTW , many of my favourite songs are often sung by Rory 😎
@TravelAnorak3 жыл бұрын
@@kwikbit I think Bruce's voice works on some songs (May Morning springs to mind) but generally I find his voice grating and I stopped following Runrig when he took over, but I've heard some albums with him on and seen some videos on KZbin. Watching videos of both eras of Runrig it always seems to me that Donnie puts more heart into his performances.
@johnrodgers25052 жыл бұрын
@@kwikbit very true though Donnie has such a destinctive voice listening to him sing here this is not the Donnie i remember and his voice used to be a lot stronger .Love Runrig and blessed to have had 2 amazing lead singers

This has got to be the WORST that Donnie has ever sung this song, that he & Runrig made famous throughout the world.
