Montgomery described the men of the Royal Ulster Rifles as his Iron Side's,Fearlessly in Battle, True in first WW, True at Dunkirk, True on D Day 2nd WW, True in Korea .I am proud of the RUR.

45 percent of RUR that served in Korea were from the Republic of Ireland. Excellent Battalion. Best Bugle section in Army . Sadly gone.

My great great great uncle Thomas chamber he was a lance corporal in the 1st Battalion Royal ulster Rifles he led the 5th cameron’s to the forming up point at ste horinine ( i think it was longueval) he is buried at ranville)
