Horrendous wind and rain, while I watched. Blue skies for moment. According to bbc weather, mon/tues/wed supposed to windy, but with sun. Another job, that you make, look so simple. 😊 Had a look in Lidl. No, chain spray. I guess we’re out of season to,sell.😊

Hi Mark, same here, supposed to be getting better in the week, it really is a simple job, and it needs doing, I've gone back to the good old fashioned gear oil, I used it for years and with excellent results, thanks for watching..... Colin ☺️

Hi Colin, nice to see you getting stuck into the bike already 😊 of course some folk have little girly hands and like lots of play in the levers 🤗 my Himalayan front was not perfectly round and gave a weird up and dowm feeling when going slow . 🙂

Hi Harry, a man's go to do what a man's got to do, or something along those lines 😂😂, you know me, can't help but tinker, cheers for watching mate, ....... Colin ☺️

Morning Colin we had rain 1st thing but now just breezy but miserable all the same, another good tutorial there mate, my clutch adjuster on the bars has come loose a couple of times and worked its way down the thread, I do it up finger tight it may be that I’ve greased the adjuster thread it’s whole length and the hot sun has thinned it enough to allow the locknut to vibrate loose 🤔. Funnily enough had to adjust the clutch cable on the Vespa for only the second time in its life (14 years) yesterday, which is a pain cos all the adjustment is underneath the motor lay on the floor job 😡 next Tuesday on is still looking good mate 👍 …… Pete 🇫🇷

Afternoon Pete, still absolutely throwing it down here, I'm not too sure if this worked it's way loose or it was never finished off being adjusted, who knows, still it's done now, by the sounds of it, I bet your glad it one in a blue 🔵 moon you have to adjust the vespa, let's hop the forecast for next week is good........ Colin 😊

Good video. I've just purchased a Guerilla and I think they are great bikes. I'm sure this vid will come in very handy, when I come to adjust the clutch. Just another perspective on the tyres, is that I live in rural Wales and I ride a lot on small lanes (often with grass or gravel in the middle) and the semi off road tyres are ideal for that type of work. I suppose it depends on where you do most of your riding.
@droneon29Ай бұрын
Hi and thank you, regards the tyres I think you're absolutely right, the conditions you described would suit these tyres perfectly, although in rural France I don't really go off tarmac, I still think the Ballance of the front wheel is off, thanks for watching........ Colin ☺️

You seem to get more rain there, than the Outer Hebrides 🌧
@droneon29Ай бұрын
I think I'm correct in saying that Finistere gets more rain per year than any other department, and this year its certainly lived up to its reputation, the summer has been a washout, and it looks as though its not changing anytime soon

What many don't realise on checking clutch travel, is that turning the adjuster too far (too much) either way, will not engage the clutch to change gear. There has to be the right amount of slack & once set right, you'll notice the gears engage at their best. I've always done it by feel checking the gears engagement...rather than manufacturers specs, due to the reasons you mention at the lever. Ie where to take the measurements from. There should never be a need to adjust it at the crank case on a new bike.

afternoon, I agree, I think people have their own ways on the adjustment of a clutch, with this one being how it was, and I'm sure how it ended up like that, although it really doesn't matter, I reset this back to how it would have been set in the factory, it's only done 310km so you hope the cable isn't stretched 😂, the gears drop in nice, couldn't test it out on the road as its throwing it down, but in the garage on the centre stand all well, ..........colin 😀

@@droneon29 That's the way & if they drop in nice when stationary, they will do so out on the road 👍 I've just finished a nut & bolt rebuild on an old Suzuki Srad 750WT & I'm over the moon with it 😀

hopefully, I can get out sometime this coming week and give it a test, I need another 100km then I can book it in for its service, there's no rush then, I just won't it out the way before the really bad weather sets in, I hate getting wet, bet your well happy with the rebuild, I rescued my Transalp 15 years ago now in a bit of a sorry state and returned her to her former glory, but now she's with a new owner

@@droneon29 How long have you lived there in France? Be good to know a bit of your background & reasons.
@droneon29Ай бұрын
@@keepitreal1547 been here 19 years, never intended to move to this region of France, but a business deal sealed my fate 😂, and of course kids at various stages of school, college, lycée and of course work commitments, so we stayed here, I left the UK as I felt you could get a better life in a European country, nothing to do with money, but certainly a more satisfying way of life 👍

It would help if you told us exactly what it us your not happy about with the tyres. I have 380ks on mine service next week. I find the tyres are scrubbing in fine. But then I'm not that good describing wine either😂 if it tastes good it's a good wine. If the tyres don't slip they are good. The only thing I've found is they are a but loose on gravel.
@droneon2925 күн бұрын
Hi, firstly thanks for watching the video, I must admit I'm exactly the same as you when it comes to wine 🍷, if it tastes good then it's ok for me 😂, now the tires, I have no issues with the brand at all, they've been great on my Himalayan and meteor, the only issue I have is the guerrilla is a roadster, so for most of the buyers it will be ridden on tarmac, so for me why fit chunky tyres, but that's just from a ride/comfort point of view, as a tyre there great, take care and ride safe ....... Colin 😊

Colin, have you found a suitable chain lube replacement?
@droneon29Ай бұрын
Hi Richard, I haven't, there are plenty of products out there on the market, many being ridiculously over priced, at the end of the day our chains are factory lubed and sealed, all we're doing is apply lubricant to the out shell of the rollers, to ensure our chains glides smoothly and doesn't corrode, so I've gone back to good old gear oil, very economical to use, of course the only draw back is, it's not in a spray tin 😂, but I can live with that, thanks for watching, take care ...... Colin 😊
