I was so moved seeing the swans dancing I teared up. My late mother loved Swan lake and she danced. She made me an apricot tutu when I was a little girl amongst other beautiful dresses. Thank you for your magnificent art it is profoundly beautiful.

I worked for one day at the Royal Ballet costume department in London and it was amazing. Fabrics were basically stretch and zigzag sewn several times over a nude base. I would have loved to have stayed but the head constumier didn't like me for some reason.

Gorgeous absolutely gorgeous. I’m hopefully going to see my first ever swamp Lake produce from by the National Ballet Of Canada in Toronto. I believe it’s showing next February and then Giselle hopefully also put on for the National Ballet Of Canada in Toronto In OCTOBER. Only been taking ballet for seven years. It started seven years ago to take adult ballet classes at the National Ballet Of Canada and Toronto and also Canadas National Ballet School and Toronto ballet is so hard but there’s certain aspects of it that I like, but obviously I won’t be dancing in Giselle anytime soon, but I love going to class every Sunday I go to class And doing a workshop and everyone is so nice and such a positive environment to be in for an hour and a half key to dance in the Prima studio at the National Ballet Of Canada in Toronto to gorgeous studio very lucky

I would love to watch this workhouse on a live stream as they make more projects. I could watch so much. Maybe their media coordinator could take the ti e to narrate what they are doing when they are live streaming so they are more efficient and don’t lose too much time. There is a real passion for this elegant content.

ngl until this video, I just assumed the tutus used fake feathers. The effect from the layered tulle is so beautiful
@nonameface905 ай бұрын
Indeed, I was convinced it is about layered feathers. But thinking about it more, feathers make more sense to be on the bodice, the tutu would be a mess after each performance, the feathers would have to be reglued etc.

Saw white swan costumes hanging up on a back stage tour of Covent Garden and looked closely (amazing work!) and wondered how you stop those little feather points fraying or curling? Are they heat sealed or is there enough stiffness in the tulle?

Is this a good place to ask: why on Earth do you make these absurd costumes for the swans and the Willis in Giselle? As if some dogs have torn them at the hem level. No floating or style at all.
@claire-kh9uz5 ай бұрын
they are created to look like feathers, so they are cut like the end of a feather. the willis are ghosts who kill men, so i imagine it’s a creative choice to make them seem more ‘killer’

Why are there more white tutus than black ones? Isn’t that racist?
