Not only is it free, you can just... run it on your own PC, so long as you have an Nvidia graphics card. Someone made a fork that is a few-command installer on Windows (but you DO need to download the CUDA tools first). Thanks for covering this!

As far as generative AI go, I can actually get behind this one because it allows people to bring to life something that they drew and created themselves, into a 3D medium. I know that doesn't always have to be the case and isn't always going to be since any image can be used from any source, random generated ones included. But this is the kind of AI assisted workflow that indie dev need in such a cluttered industry, something to bring your creation and vision to life. My issue with total random generation feels more like the human assisting the AI.

Thanks for video, and the quick demo, I probably would not have tried it on my own, and definitely could not give the knowledgeable, experienced opinion of it. This opens the tool for me, and it will save me so much time! In fact, it can do 3d better than me (no I am not an artist, just some dude that wants to make a game)

A trick I use to create 3D Clothing for characters. Is to utilize the Blender Controlnet skeleton to get the proportions of my character. Then use said skeleton and an Image AI generator to get a 2D T pose image. Then feed it to an image to 3D AI. It's not perfect (yet). But it's good for prototyping.

Holy crap it works on cars too. I spent yesterday taking 600+ pictures for my usual photogrammetry workflow and fed 1 picture this got 90% of the way there, in like 20 seconds. That's awesome. It’s not good enough for what I want to do yet, but it reminds me a lot of playing with the early versions of Disco Diffusion. It’s going to be really cool, really soon!

you did exactly what I'd hoped someone would do, show a potential pipeline/workflow when everyones whining that it's not "pipeline friendly" or whatever. If you have the time, would you be able to make a video showcasing one of those characters working in a topdown UE5 template? I don't have the skill to do that but it would be sick to see it in action

Can you run this locally? I will utilize this for sure but how would I go about releasing my game on steam without receiving spam negative reviews by anti-AI people? If I release a game and they know I used AI, they will send me death threats. I have seen it before and it has happened to people I have talked to.
@TheRoyalSkies4 сағат бұрын
I believe you can run it locally - And, don't worry about the hate spam, it's only been around a year and the average person is already enjoying AI stuff like Harry Potter wearing Balenciaga, Pirates of the Carrabean going to the gym, and Star Wars vs Gucci videos are wildly popular. It's becoming normalized very quickly, and within a few years will be as standard as photoshop. In addition, there are plenty of large groups of people who support AI, and you should definitely join and share your creations on those discords so they have the chance to see and support your work - so just hang tight and enjoy what you create in the meanwhile :)

Topology is not the only issue. When you zoom in on the character, the details look terrible. To make it usable, you need to create each component of the character's armor or clothing individually, then assemble everything, retopologize it, and apply textures, but is certainly a beginning It will accelerate a lot my projects.

I don't like A.I I can't stress that enough but this...this changes the game. I can't draw for crap but i've become decent at making models when I have a reference of some sort. This has allowed me to turn my bad art into useable reference to actually make something cool

I cant recall if ive ever commented on one of your vids but ill make sure of it now: Thank you for your series on UV mapping, rigging and weight painting in blender, they were very great when i was getting started and i always refer people to them if they ask about the topics.

Use remeshing features in your favourite 3D software. Zbrush has a very good remesher and Blender has Quadriflow (but I think it's kinda arse), you can also use Instant Mesh. They are good enough otherwise you can manually fix them.
