Christopher Hitchens is incredibly brilliant. And correct.

At one minute and twenty seconds, he actually said god holds every thing together, either he is referring to the attraction of protons and electrons, or god designed things that he had to hold together with his mind? WTF.

Someone wrote "Theology+fascism=religion". 15 likes. Goes without saying these people are atheist. What is theology? What is fascism? What is religion? I know atheism is a logical fallacy that assumes God is the religious idea of the creator of the creation to conclude wrongly no creator exists because a particular idea of God doesn’t exist. What would be the future of atheism if atheists continue to refuse to ask for proof that the Quran was memorized? I want to know if the Quran was memorized or not. I want to know the truth. Why did you believe the Quran was memorized?. Theology is philosophy or rational thinking and fascism is the opposite, like religion, like atheism. Emergency. I am a poet and artist searching for beauty and tranquility in a horrible world. Thank you.

From poet to poet here are some words of comfort for you to consider: We have 3 deaths, the first when you body ceases to function, the 2nd, when we are laid to rest, buried, burnt etc. the 3rd is when in the not too distant future, our name is uttered for the very last time.

@@garythompson9452 good, I hope you enjoy it. But two points. First, don't be lulled into lazily thinking that faith is always the product of 'brainwashing' (whatever that is) and therefore to be dismissed, and that unbelievers are never brainwashed. In reading Hitchens, you may be brainwashing yourself. Second, you - like Hitchens - are a person of faith. The only difference is the object of your faith. Perhaps yours is in yourself, or (God forbid) Hitchens.

I could say 'Christopher Hitcherson' - you've really got to grips with that book. The better point is that Christian believers do not believe in the god Christopher Hitchens did not believe in. He had a good mind, a plummy English accent, a good turn of phrase, a decent education, all of which led too many to think he spoke with papal infallibility. He did land some good blows (think Mother Teresa and clerical sexual abuse) but failed to do enough research on others (Billy Graham - only partly right). Rely on his conclusions at your peril.
@bettyboohadapoo4 ай бұрын
and what may I ask has been your own conclusions? No doubt you've done all your own research and published?
@P1959H4 ай бұрын
@@bettyboohadapoo correct. I have no-one to do my research for me, so I do it all myself. As for 'published' - every man and his dog thinks he is 'published' these days just because he's posted something on social media etc. Be that as it may, I do have professional and personal articles published by journals etc, but I suspect that will not be enough to persuade you from your apparent scepticism. As for my conclusions, they are set out in my original post. To repeat: Hitchens got it right when he was shooting fish in a barrel, but anyone can do that. I have watched videos of him talking to nodding dogs who were lapping up what they wanted to hear, and were impressed because it was delivered with a snarky venom that scratched their itch. Rely on him at your peril.

@@bettyboohadapoo I seem to have rattled you, which was not my intention. I write as a Christian believer and a lawyer. I have reflected on the evidence for and against the resurrection. You are inherently wrong on one key fact. This guy IS NOT PREACHING. He is simply presenting facts and you are in denial of some part of reality.
