Ooh I have a question! How do you make it to where like, the item has to be used in front of the door MANUALLY? Not sure if you're familiar with The Witch's House MV, but I want something like that in my title. I want the player to be able to have the item they need, and then stand in front of the event...go to their inventory, and "use" the item in front of the correct event. (I want this so that I can make more complex things like traps if you use the wrong item or something) I've tried asking on the RPG Maker forums before but no one really seemed to be on the same page.

There is a way to do it, but I'll definitely have to chuck that in video. It takes a bit of explaining. Stick around for a few weeks and I should have a video out about it.

Sorta what I was looking into...but I'm stuck!! Trying to get my food stove to work properly! PLEASE HELP ME... I created an event on top of stove where player basically talks to guy selling fish, lobster, clams. So after buying 1 of each, you can go inside a house to use stove to cook either each one separately using (Choice / Condition branches) then after receiving each Item back as (Cooked Fish, Cooked Lobster, Cooked Clams) you can then Create a NEW (Stew) using the cooked 3 items.However,...this turning out to be a nightmare!! I've tried putting all conditions on 1 long page with else branches to check if you run out of item each raw item before it's cooked. Then condition branches of if have 3 cooked or if don't have any 1 of 3 items cooked. basically. The finished cooked (STEW) will basically restore full health to player, versus minimal health from choosing to eat raw food, or moderate health from eating cooked individual food if you choose. I can't get all these conditions to function properly as individual items being checked on hand. I need to check 3 Raw foods, 3 Cooked Foods then option to make (STEW) from 3 of the cooked items.

this is common sense...but how do you trigger an event by actually "using" an item? that is the hard part. like actually use the key by selecting it yourself and pressing a button and the door unlocks...

With a common event and some other triggers its possible to create this.

@@Sefier85 How do you make a combine system? for example the player has to manually collect flashlight + battery and use it on each other to acquire a working flashlight?

Question about something like this that is nearly the same, but with a little tweak... I see you set the switch on the door so that if you have the key it opens --right, that is very useful... But what if you want to make a door for instance that, to open, you would need to select the right item from your item menu instead? Instead of it just triggering the switch automatically? Does that make sense? Like if the door would not open unless I went to the item menu and used the right key right in front of it?
