The first train was 118 cars,the second train was 42 cars,the third train was 189 cars and two Dpu, and the 4th train was 165 cars, and the 5th train was 110 , and the 6th train was 103 cars and I could barely see it, keep up the good work 👍 Jaw Tooth

Thank you for this first installment video of your trip to Greenwich, Ohio on 16 November 2023, Jaw Tooth! I enjoyed watching this video. There was a lot of railroading action in this video. It was nice to see a Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway train in this video. That was a long intermodal train that had double mid-train DPUs. I am looking forward to the next videos of this trip to Greenwich, Ohio.

FYI. These tracks are former, NYC (Big four) right of way. The north/south line (single track) runs from Cleveland (Lindale) to Columbus and Cincinnati. The east/west line is the main west to Indianapolis and east to , I think, Youngstown. JT, you really need to take the short trip north to Berea, Ohio. That is where the line splits for the run to Chicago. There's lots more in that area too. Just west down the Chicago line is Olmstead Falls. There is an old NYC station there that now contains a model railroad club. I grew up just a bit east of Lindale, close to where I-480 and I-77 cross, and 3 blocks north of the "Belt Line" connection line with Collinwood yard (NYC). I spent a lot of my misspent youth getting into trouble for playing on the track there. ;-)

What a lovely Sat morning surprise from Dr Tooth! Beautiful sunny day in Huron. I'll bet💰we don't see you in January! I have a question about the rolling art. How can they paint a bus on a train going 35? Those guys have talent! Marvel movies have great effect on our youth. Shot of the moon over the approaching train was art! 🌝 Oh, the girl ran lickety split to avoid being stuck on the 'wrong side of the tracks' with the 2 of you! Women have a flight instinct men only experience in war.

You can always tell which track it'll be on by the gates. Look for the crossing where both gates go down. The crossing that has only one gate lower is just to stop the traffic in advance, but allow opposing traffic through if need be. It is confusing, but you'll get it, look for the one where both gates lower.

It's always fun to see a W&LE freight and they gave the JT welcome just like Cincinnati with the first half being the NS\IORY Gondola special. The 1st train on CSX had a 25 car cut of 50 ft boxcars in the back end had older covered hoppers in salt service helping to get the roads ready for winter. With all the variations of destinations that Crossing could use a coach's Playbook with maybe an audio call out saying where it's going. I'm surprised you didn't make the comment about the teenage jogger because she truly was a runner. For a lower light level I was still able to see what the consist was of the Night Train. One problem with living by the tracks is the heavy vibrations. Be careful of what you wish for. I had to stay in a hotel right next to NS in north Atlanta. Didn’t get much sleep.
@frederickbooth7970 Жыл бұрын
Once was riding a very experienced horse traveling along Hwy 101 when a slow moving train below us was heading north. Turk did not mind the noise or movement of the train but once he felt the ground vibrations it was off to stay ahead of the train! He was actually able to do so as the tracks dated to 1910 & had speed restrictions. Turk probably reached 30 mph & thankfully there was a 15% hill roadway that I could guide him up where he finally after 1/2 mile ran out of energy. Of course running that hard he blew & blew & caused so much loud sounds all the people came out of their houses to see what was going on. I then had to ride him back to our barn 4 miles away crossing the tracks thankfully which had a overpass for the hwy.

A couple of notable "Fallen Flags" worth mentioning...New Orleans Public Belt boxcar @4:36, followed by one of those "signature" double-arrow-banded (ex-) Bay Line boxcars @5:31. That Wheeling & Lake Erie segment was a "doozy", with the pair of ex-D&RGW diagonal-striped Second-Generation EMD's leading the way, "loud 'n proud". Location is a solid runner-up to Hamilton in "my book"!!! 👍👍

Jaw...you never disappoint ! That video had it all! picturesque location, rails and train out the yin-yang! Fantastic and colorful graphfetti! That 'Hoyer' container on that horizon to horizon manifest I think was Australian, and the 'Bertschi' container was Italian! Never seen the 'Pashi Hawaii' nor the "Suttons' before neither! To sum it up...that was a FIVE SATAR video!!!!

Wheeling Lake Erie has a yard in Brewster Ohio State route 93 runs underneath the yard. And there is one in Akron Ohio interstate 76 runs beside it , in case anybody didnt know. There may be another in the Wheeling West Virginia area. And west of you jawtooth might be another. Goggle it. On the IM's there are tanks in cages in the well cars they are usually midtrain. What's the reasoning for this. Pretty cool though let us know
@cp368productions2 Жыл бұрын
Those have to be at least 5 wells from the locomotives, other than that it depends on their destination. Wheeling's yard in the east is at Mingo Jct north of Wheeling. Their River Subdivision runs on the west side of the river and crosses the Unstoppable bridge to connect to the CSX Ohio River Subdivision in a balloon loop. That's all they do in Wheeling.
