I can now say I'm familiar with ALL components of the drill press to which I give you MANY THANKS!!! I was a little apprehensive about replacing bearings should I need to but now that I know how these are put together I have a clear picture. Brilliant, as usual. Great to see the drill get some loving, mind you, the red paint job was a surprise. I was sure you'd be going for original "grotty" green. Sounded great at the end. When I fixed outboard motors, the recoil starter springs were a nightmare. No dafety wires for me, I had to hand wind the buggers myself. One or two did ping across the workshop! Happy days. Take care. Cheers, Norm.

Perfect job. Although I think you made a very good one, that missing coil-spring housing is a matching fit among all these 5 speed drill press, made/sold by: Draper, MachineMart, Silverline and rest of the chineese made ones can be bought on e-bay/amazon. Majority of these pillar drills like wobbling and would benefit from a little tune-up and a replacement of a better quality chuck and aligning both pulleys.

I had a big 700w one and I sold it, it was down and I couldn't do anything to it a change something. From the factory leaves a high tolerance between the shaft and the housing. I look forward to new videos with Subaru. Greetings from Romania.
