Besides purchasing cost, car ownership involves registration fee, insurance, and maintenance. Other provinces (non-BC) may have periodic safety inspection requirement by law. Many universities would charge students a fee for parking.

If you come from the Philippines and go to Canada, you should definitely be loaded/rich. Canada is expensive. These youtubers come from wealth/families whose parents can afford to send their kids. Middle class people from the Philippines (with no existing relatives in Canada) couldn't afford Canada. You should at least be a millionaire (or multi-millionaire) here in the Philippines to be able to move there with no financial strain
@rrdancel2 жыл бұрын
You are correct in that Canada is an expensive place because of the high cost of living. Generally speaking, countries with a high cost of living tend to have higher wages. Otherwise, citizens or residence of that country can not afford to live there. I guess, this somewhat answers your affordability statement. I would like to address your statement about “you should definitely be loaded/rich.” I mean, there are many foreign students here from the Philippines, India, China and other parts of the world that are not rich/loaded and are here. I have spoken to many of them. Some of them are from middle class families as well. I generally agree with you statement that you must have a minimum level of financial capability in order to come to Canada. This minimum level of income is more of a screening/filter use to accept or refuse applicants. Immigration Canada put this financial requirement in place to ensure that the applicant will not struggle financially when they are here in Canada. However, this financial requirement varies as it depends on each student’s circumstances (cost of living in chosen city and tuition fee). It can range from from $20,000 to $100,000 CAD or more.

@rrdancel2 жыл бұрын
Gas prices are not location dependant as it depends on world market price for gas. So, the price of gas should be roughly the same in Vancouver and other parts of the world that doesn’t produce gas or gets subsidies for gas. The only difference would be things like transportation cost of gas and local taxes that may affect the price.
