My favorite effects animator and director who's stuck in depression mode or the real life Shinji Ikari, Hideaki Anno. The master of nukes, lasers and explosions
Ein Künstler der sich über andere stellt ! ein wahrer Künstler !

The last part of RSF was just mind blowing the tension it picked up the thrill, details of bullets and aircrafts tearing apart in the middle of the battle mam it must be one of the best war scenes i have seen and experienced.

It's sad to think that they used to do such amazing work by hand, back in the 80s, but we will never see its like again.

A lot of shows still have a lot of animation by hand, Toei shows especially have a lot of hand drawn battle scenes.

@@briansilva3765 No Toei has hand drawn still frames, with the occasional effort every once in a year

@@therealrouges2341 I would agree until around 2019, since the success of Broly, they stopped making 20 shows at the same time and started focusing on making less with more quality. Watch any recent episode of Digimon or One Piece, most are well made.

Spoken like someone who has never worked in the industry.
In France, we were lucky enough to see オネアミスの翼: 王立宇宙軍(Wings of Honneamise) in the 90s. I have never seen anything like it since, very powerful and unique.
