Thumbs down? Guess they don't like the dialect? Or maybe american Indigenous people? I don't know...They shouldn't be so critical in either case. First, we are human beings and we are all related under the Supreme, divine Creator. Second, Tsalagi is after all our language and our people. One language with many dialects and only subtle differences. We can speak to each other in any of these dialects and be perfectly understood by our own. You're doing a great thing for our people and our language. Keep going strong. Central speaker here. Sgi, wado thank you brother.

Mr. Blevins, thank you so much for doing this. You have no idea how much it means to me to finally understand some of the things my grandmother was saying. Some of the words I remember. I always told people my Cherokee name was Nachuj cause she always said that when she was talking about me, na achuj. But I asked my Mother and she told me the story. My Daddy's family is Jewish, so they named me Caleb. And Momma told my Grandmother it meant "dog" in Hebrew, but it was a good Biblical name. Well she just laughed and laughed and said well, I guess his Cherokee name'll be Gili! Wado!

It is so cool that her mother can read the Bible in Cherokee! I myself am just starting to learn Cherokee since my fathers side has a lot of Cherokee in it, but no recent family member except for my great grandmother knew the language. I am wanting to revive it in my family again and be able to teach it one day. Thank you for these lesson as well! I have been listening to them casually or while I am weight lifting. This, along with some other study material, have both been very informative and fun.
