@@jordan_.zx10r as in dont torque to max torque in the beginning split in 3 steps, 1st torque all 8 to 20ftlbs then 2nd time 40ftlbs and last 85ftlbs last round should be the heaviest as honda recommends according to the FSM. dont quote me on the number of ftlbs this was just a reference so go according to FSM.

Stock one isn’t really all that great tbh, im on og clutch at 110k with fbo, reflash and it’s locking me out of gear and slipping, ill be putting in an exedy stg 1 with lw flywheel
@urielortiz36674 жыл бұрын
Why did you choose this clutch kit over the exedy? Also, can you explain why yo i replaced the pilot bushing and the throw out bearing? I’m replacing my soon and can’t find any info if those two parts are needed to be replaced while replacing the clutch
@jdmdennis97634 жыл бұрын
I choose competition clutch because my buddy has one and it felt great. I replaced the pilot bushing and throw out bearing because over time it gets worn out. I highly recommend replacing them while you are at it or you might have to take the transmission out again. If you need those parts I would go to your local Acura dealership and get it there, it wasn’t that expensive. Also both competition and exedy are great brand I would definitely recommend either one.

I’m 4 years late lmao, but if anyone’s active on this video still, instead of disconnecting from where the ball joints meet the lower control arm, could I just take the bolts out that connect the strut to the brake hub and drop the subframe with the hubs still on? Is there any reason I shouldn’t do this that way? It just sounds a bit easier to me..

yehh i thought the same too lol, i did mines 2 months ago and man aligning the transmission back in was a pain. Took me and 2 other ppl 1 whole hour while bench pressing tht thing cuz jack wasnt angling right.
@aycarambas4 жыл бұрын
@@droptopp3479 Whats your secret? Any tips? I just kept wiggling with 2 people above and a jackstand underneath until it slowly lined up with the guides. Took like 30 tries. But it was such a pain no joke for a minute I thought about junking it and getting a new car.
@droptopp34794 жыл бұрын
@@aycarambas lol well first dont mke the mistake i did, which was if trans doesnt go in then try sticking the alignment tool back in to see if it actually goes in smooth. So after like 20min it didnt work so i tried tht and saw tht the alignment wasnt too straight so i had to redo align and straighten up the middle by pilot bushing. Then after tht, we just pushed it in while hving 2 guys under the trans bench pressing it and one on top to push and align the trans. After wiggling it counter and clockwise for 10-15min it finally went in. Using cherry picker wouldve been the easiest way i see but i didnt hve one. Definitely do need 2 extra ppl to mke it easier on yourself tho. I didnt want to work on the car the next day so we had to get it in no matter what but yeh it was a pain in the ass.
