I've got the 916HP and it's my favourite 1/2 all-round ratchet. It's got a very similar head to the HPLG model and it is indeed serviceable. You'll just need to pry out the retaining ring and the head comes out so you can replace an anvil or the toothed wheel itself. The advantage is that because there is no screws, it mitigates "foreign object damage" on workpieces which is important in certain areas, e.g aerospace etc.

600 to 1000 Nm is a 66.67% increase. (If it was 500 to 1000 it would be a 100% increase.) Of course 1000 to 600 is a 40% decrease. I'm sure that's what you meant by "it's 40%". I just mention this because some tool folks are not really math folks and may not understand, plus a comment adds to your youtube juice.

I just got the Hazet 916HPLG. At 90 teeth it's the finest ratchet I have. So my finest ratchet is a big 1/2 drive. I also recently got a Stahlwille 1/4 drive in a set that is 80, I believe. All the rest are Snap-on, Craftsman at around 72. The only "weird" thing about the HPLG was that when I bought it, the price was lower than the older LG version you show here. I checked about 5 times to make sure I was not misunderstanding something. That seemed backwards to me, but okay, I'll take it. Currently waiting on a set of Stahlwille series 14 wrenches. I just ordered the 916HPLG to go in my wifes new BMW X3M-C as the tire iron if there is a flat.

You can service the hp version. It has no screws to loose in an engine of an airplane (fod)
