Raytracing looks just as bad because they use TAA as the denoiser (which doesn't do its job well btw) so the image now has spotty shadows AND is blurry + ghosty. The gold camo in this game would look amazing if it wasn't covered in black spots that never go away.

You should sell it now. Set the money aside and throw it at a 5090 when it launches. Even if they bump up the price of the 5090 by a bit, the upgrade will likely cost you very little. While the 4090 will still hold nice value when the 5090 hits, it certainly won't be as much as what they're going for right now.

its pretty criminal how much more intensive this is compared to MW3. i went from +170fps in that to struggling to reach 100 with the same mostly optimized setting at 4k with DLSS quality on a 4070ti. It doesn't even look any better either.

The flickery water is due to upscaling/sharpening tools. If turned off the water is fixed but no fidelity cax or dlss either

Not that frame gen is going to be what people want in a FPS generally, but if you want to use FSR frame gen in the same way as FSR 3.1 basically with DLSS you can, but the setting to turn it on and off is only available in the campaign graphics settings but it enables it for all modes as shows up as on or off in the multiplayer benchmark, so if you want to use it or bench it Krispy 😉It is annoying though as it leaves and restarts to switch modes. Oh and when I downloaded the game FSR FG was on by default, this is how I figured this out.

There is an issue currently in the game that will impact performance by a lot. Amd frame gen can only be turned on in campaign settings menu and it will stay on for multiplayer. And by drfault its ON. So you should open campaign go to settings and turn it off, when you open multiplayer again it will be applied. 🤷

I've been testing this on my rig and seemed to be capped at 116fps on a 120hz display and couldn't work out why. Figured out it was because I had v-sync enabled in geforce control panel. Doh. Knocked that off and afterburner now shows an average of 200fps at 4k native on extreme settings. DLAA doesn't take that much off either. Seems to be quite well optimised

I have a 3070 on low settings and it’s the strangest thing cause my average fps could be in the mid to maybe upper 100s and then depending on what I’m looking at/doing (which I was expecting more), it can sometimes dip down into the 80s. My friend has a 3060 and gets more stable and sometimes higher fps than me. This games optimization is weird.

The lowdown map is extremely unoptimized, you lose a lot of frames compared to other maps and to fix the flickering water you have to disable depth of field weirdly enough.
