Another deal breaker is that you cannot enable rtx hdr if u are using multiple monitors.

The HDR with RTX uses AI which uses your GPU, so there will always be a cost.

two things. first is not native hdr alternative at all. second is for only sdr games, and you have another rtx hdr alternative is windows auto hdr app, that can force any sdr games use auto hdr, and you have choice what to use... most of sdr games are old, and gives you 200-600fps whatever you use, your monitor can be of course 360hz, but afaik they all at low resolution, and even with that you will got all you need. we are physically don't need 100% performance, we are need room of performance. and if we got without rtx hdr 200fps in our sdr game, and 150 with rtx hdr, and monitor is 144gz we are in any way will stay good. because we need cap fps for stay in g-sync, or fs adaptive... so in most case is 0 problem at all with it. afaik today we have only two games is remastered crysis 2 and 3 they are haven't room and works close to limit, but even with them i don't sure... and of course i talking about 3440x1440 or 3840x1600. because i watched tests and saw 4090k/13900k just don't ready for 4k in most cases with or without new feature. without mentioned 21:9 resolutions for me looks much cool and give much more performance... especially first one. so problem not in the new feature. problem is unbalanced system. like too big resolution for fast card or crap card at all. before play games we can watch tests and see the room. if we haven't a 10-20% room it's not right in any way, because new generation of cards is two years, new games can out next year. in my case is 4 years for upgrade because i take top of the top, and every single upgrade start from tests i can found in youtube for know what i can handle with new rig with my monitor resolution and frequency. so was with gtx980 1080p@60hz, so was with 2080ti 3440x1440@100hz, and same now at 4090 with 3440x1440@144hz if people can not take in balance their system is not problem of nvidia... in any way there no end of the world, any time we can back to force auto hdr. my sdr games is far cry 3 and 4, crysis remastered 2 and 3, sniper ghost warrior 3 and both of contracts in the sequel, as i said, only about crysis remastered 2/3 i have a doubt, all other will stay good, sgw3 i tested and that's works cool, i test it with true_hdr, not with app, because this don't work if overlays disabled, the overlays is evil. with true hdr stuff or with change settings in nv inspector + custom xml you can change settings without any app. but i don't think it worth to use low quality rtx hdr if we can use windows auto hdr if something go wrong. hope this nv app will better, and will not broke my other rtx hdr settings and first of all will not work that stuff by add overlays is stupid way was and still, if it could be integrated in common rendering, it has to do that.

Ah yea I KNEW you would be getting amongst this feature, btw bit of constructive criticism, you should sort out your thumbnail situation (unless you don’t care about views which is totally fine) but I think more people would click and you could grow your channel faster if you thumbnails were more eye catching, I like your content though we have a lot in common in our taste in games, I just wanted to suggest this, cheers :)

Have you tried RTX Dynamic Vibrance yet? Currently theirs no tests on it but its suppose to boost clarity & colors without crushing colors

Very nice, thanks for the video. ReShade with MajorPain HDR + Lilium shaders is fine and all, but this seems like a good overall upgrade to that. I was just trying to get Robocop: Rogue City to work with MajorPain + Lilium, but it would always result in a black screen, even with CSP_SCRGB override. I decided instead to try out RTX HDR and it worked like a charm instantly. It's just a shame that you have to physically unplug secondary monitors for RTX HDR to work, and I hope that Nvidia fixes that in a future update ASAP.

What i like about this is apparently you can trust the black levels and the peak brightness but at the same time you have full control of saturation and mid tones. How do you think about middle grey settings? In most game i test default 50 is too dim for my taste.

Im very impressed by this too and want to dig a bit into the performance cost. Has to differ depending on the type of RTX card you have since it uses tensor cores.

Hey, how do we go about the middle grey setting? It defaults to 50, is this okay? Any pointers/tips for this setting?
