You know, if you applied this concept to a Warhammer 40K you could have a really nice OP on a world that is on the verge of becoming a Daemon world, and where the warp is starting to twist reality to its whim. Could be really nice to lead a desperate last ditch effort to stop the sorcerous ritual which is plunging the world into the immaterium from succeeding, or simply trying to evacuate as reality breaks down around you.
