I actually looked at a bunch of anime reaction channels on KZbin and I looked at the view counts for Oshi no Ko s2 compared to season 1, and literally on EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, the view counts for each episode of s2 were WAY lower than what they were for s1!!! But thankfully this last episode is trending ALL OVER Twitter right now, AS IT SHOULD!!! 6:45 12:16 by the way, this entire section of the episode is the adaptation of chapter 79 of the manga, and still to this day I still get absolutely Excited and get goosebumps Every time I re-read that Chapter, No matter HOW MANY TIMES I go back to it.

A cool detail about the MV is how in some shots Rubys eyes were dark and others it was her normal single star eyes. I’m pretty sure this was showing the shots that were done before and after finding Aqua’s old body I feel like unlike Aqua when he was chasing his father Ruby has nothing left other than this desire. Where with aqua he has people he cares about like Ruby, Akane and Kana and was able to move on. But Ruby often has seemed like only Ai and her Sensei is who she cares about not even Aqua. So now she has no one left she genuinely has this one goal in mind and nothing else left. Where aqua had his humanity still in him. I feel like Rubys darkness of having no one left is represented in her new eyes

I think the fact that Ruby has Dark Star eyes 24/7 unlike Aqua who would switch it like a lever is a way to show that Ruby doesn't treat Serena and Ruby as 2 different people. Aqua was so fixated on revenge from a young age that he could never choose between a side between Aqua and Gorou. The child that wanted a simple life, and the doctor that wanted revenge. But Ruby had already moved on. She never made Ruby Hoshino a second personality. And now that she's gone down that path of revenge, she has no alter identity to hide her dark side like Aqua did.

The studio was wild for showing that cliffhanger because that happens farther down the manga like around 20 chapters or so after where the anime left off on 😅 so yes we will be shown the full context of what happened and who that is. The father is my favorite character in the story just as such a well written antagonist who's existence gave Oshi No Ko the much needed tension and anxiety to make it so interesting. His story and just everything about him will shock everyone. Can't wait to see the rest about him animated 😊

12:02 This scene really send chills in my spine and goosebumps all over my body. There's something on Ruby that's very eerie and very discomfort and almost all the negative emotions. I love how they animated it because they deliver the exact feeling I felt when I first read it in the manga. Also, I think they're going to make Ruby's voice to be depressed all the time even though there some scenes that she needs to looked like having a happy time, I love that idea, same goes for Ruby being the creepy one, or let's say siniter, in their new MV. Whether you love or hate the father with a passion, it's undeniable that he is easily one of the best characters in the entire story and without him as the main antagonist Oshi No Ko wouldn't be even close to as good as it really is. Everyone leading up to his reveal thought the father must be this typical evil and irredeemable murderer who we shouldn't give his personal story the time of day. The dad completely destroys that idea as he's by far the most complex character, whether people like it or not. There's a reason this guy actually visited Ai's grave with flowers at hand despite being the one responsible for her death. Excited to see the anime catch up to the manga, and we see the fathers full tale revealed.

Michael... about Star eyes... it's a representation. Go back and view Aqua when his eye is dark star and light star. Look at Ruby's personality... look how people view Akane when she in staringan mode. Also don't focus on that ending scene. The anime ended on chapter 80, that scene is chapter 109... it's not important for now but it does lead to another anticipated arc.

The stars actually is explained now in the manga, if its a bright star its a lie for good intentions, if its a dark star its a lie for a bad intentions [manipulation for revenge] Someone will probably have a better explanation but thats how i understnad it

i think the star eyes are just a representation of talent, like akane's eyes light up in the theater arc without her copying ai (except by the end, which is an anime original add-on btw) basically telling us that their in "the zone" or in modern terms they are "locked in"

They could not have done this episode more perfectly. As a manga reader this episode is peak and I mean it!!!!! From Ruby’s dark arc tease and the 15 year lie and many other teases I can’t talk about. Truly an amazing season finale. I just feel bad for the hardcore anime onlys who have to fight the will of reading the manga for one year at least. :) What I will say about what comes next. Season 1 was the introduction season 2 was just “set up” and season 3 will be were the story REALLY picks up

There are a lot of talented people in the industry who don't have a star eye. I'm thinking it represents ai and her legacy. The normal one being the legacy of her life and desire to succeed. The dark one represents the legacy of her death and desire for revenge. Aqua doesn't have one at the time, so ruby carries the legacy of revenge alone which is why she has two at the time

So, in this, the representation on the eyes signify probably how they live their lives or more so in psychological terms of being optimistic and pure rather than just living in the dark, constantly lying. This anime refers a lot to a lie, being love. We can recall that Ai doesn't even know whether she lies or not in something she's said or shown. But is willing to love. Yet, we can't see these dark stars in her eyes but rather this dazzling shine of stars she has. Whereas we see dark eyes coming from those who feel sorrow and has the intent to harm, manipulate, and kill.

So I'm thinking the star eyes represent the legacy of Ai. The normal one represents the legacy of her life. The dark one represents the legacy of her death, so the desire for revenge. Aqua doesn't have any star eye at this point, so ruby is carrying alone the burden of revenge, the legacy of ai's death. That's why she has the two eyes at the time. When aqua learns their father's still alive, he'll likely get his star eye back and we'll see a shot of both of them with a dark star eye

In my opinion, Ruby having two black stars instead of one can be interpreted as her revenge is not only because of her mother's death but it includes Gorou's death too. If we actually look at it from her POV, she technically lost the only people that she cared about in her past life, Ai and Gorou. Plus, she even lost her initial motivation to become an idol (Gorou). Some could say that she had it harder than Aqua, which I agree to an extent.

It seems symbolic of one’s desire. Bright eyes mean they’re full of positive/fame seeking emotions. Dark eyes mean that they’re filled with dark emotions like hatred or murderous intent. The more they shine, the greater the intensity of the emotion Ai had to bright star eyes, because shining and becoming famous was her biggest goal in life; she wanted to feel loved and also if she failed at being and idol she out on the street. Remember that before becoming an idol, she had dark eyes too, signifying her apathy about life. Aqua is an interesting case. He flip flopped between a bright and dark eye as a result of his conflicting desires. On one hand he wanted revenge for Ai and went to great lengths to manipulate others. On the other hand, he did genuinely like acting and worked to rise in the entertainment industry, so he also sometimes had a Star eye. When he let go of his revenge, he mellowed out and didn’t have burning drive for neither revenge or fame anymore, so he became neutral. Ruby also only had one star eye because while she did want to become an idol, it was mostly to honor her mom and find “sensei”. But now she knows both of them have been taken away from her by the same person, who is still alive. Thus she gets 2 dark eyes as she’s burning with revenge for 2 people, as opposed to Aqua’s 1. Akane gets her Star eyes from imitating Ai and her passion Aqua and Ruby’s dad’s eyes are have a dark shine because well he’s a psychopathic serial killer of course he’d be filled with dark emotions. Other characters also have moments where their eyes shine with stars (like Memcho being invited to join b komachi or Kana’s spotlight moment in the play) but it seems to just be their own flavor of the star eye symbolism

Whether you love him or hate him with an undying passion, he's by far the most complex character in the whole story. Keep in mind he visited Ai's grave with flowers in hand.
