If you have never been to Bandimere, I highly suggest checking it out for this event. One of if not the best drag strips in the entire country. In a forced induction engine, at high altitude, your power will remain at the same as the one at sea level when the intake pressure is regulated by the forced induction system (when you are in boost). In will only take longer to build boost. Forced induction was extensively used and developed for planes (mainly war planes) for this specific reason. The smart thing you can do having a standalone is playing with other parameters (like timing) while gaining altitude.

FYI when you’re at altitude in “thinner” air, your turbo will compensate. Same boost level, but the turbine will spin at a higher rpm. You may run faster w/ less aerodynamic resistance on the car.

You can keep the essence of the cart with adding a couple panels to aid in aerodynamics. They proved it when they took it to the wind tunnel. Just some panels here and there to reduce the drag and make him even faster, not a funny car shell.

Boost will happen fast! I had a 2012 Kia Optima, full turbo back exhaust, intake, colder plugs, inter cooler upgrade, LAP3 tune for 93. That being said when I was in Pueblo (where y’all will be) I’d be in full boost a 2K RPM. Just a heads up

Turbo’s were designed from aircraft at high altitude so the turbo’s will make up for the altitude as long as it’s big enough to make up for the altitude. Also make sure ya get a bell on that turbo inlet it will flow much better... think of it as a small jet engine.

Those motors don't see enough miles or oil life to really benefit. When you're changing oil every few hundred miles (or sometimes every 10) you have to balance the cost. They're running an oil that's designed for turbo heat, and 3-5k oci's, think it'll be fine. Notice they never burn down a motor from oil related failure either?

I run those tires on my daily driver. They weren’t very sticky, but they do last fairly well. They really scream if they slide at all though. Just a little hot in a turn and they scream like you are spinning the crap out of them.

Usually front tires dont get nails. Its the rears. The fronts will run it over and fling it up into the rear tires. 👍
