You must give priority to traffic already on the motorway: do not force your way into the traffic stream. Avoid stopping at the end of the slip road unless you're queuing to join slow-moving traffic. The lorry shouldn't have forced his way onto the motorway, I personally wouldn't have been a dick in those situations from either side, I would have let the lorry join or if I was in the lorry's position I would have waited for someone to let me merge and not force my way on, technically the hgv driver was in the wrong but it was also quite funny to see the driver crap their pants and hold back rather than fight for the position.

One evening i was driving along the Euston Road in London and they'd shut the underpass because of an accident. An HGV was stuck in the outside lane blocking everybody because people wouldn't let him move left to use the alternative route. I stopped to try and let him out and the usual knuckle draggers were doing things like driving over the pavement to get past me rather than wait 1 minute to let him move which would have improved the traffic flow for hundreds of vehicles. I had to give up in the end and drive on as there was no point in me just sitting there having my plan to help out be frustrated by the idiots.

Re #5, the DPD clip, just because you ended up not paying and got your excess back, does NOT mean you won’t be penalised in future. Why? Because the fact there was an incident, and a claim occurred with you involved, means it’s against your name in the national insurance claims database - used by companies before giving you renewal quotes (for car, house, the lot).

Secondly, flips like this are really common. It happens when a car barely clips another (not enough for the bodywork to ‘dig in’ significantly) & the two tyres make contact. One effectively ‘drives up’ the other, resulting in enough rapid upward momentum to carry the vehicle over.

#4 car has illegal wheels that are wider than the vehicle body. Van hit car (which it would have done even if car was legal) so when the rotating van tyre contacted stationary car tyre the grippiness of the tyres caused the van to ride up and flip.

#11 I don't understand why a cyclist overtaking a car shows how stupid 20mph speed limit is. It is a road safety measure, if someone is hit by a car at 30 mph there is a 20 percent chance they will be killed but at 20 mph there is a 2.5 percent chance they will be killed. What percent chance am I likely to hit someone due to constantly staring at my speedo to ensure I'm under the limit but not going so ridiculously slow that I'm holding everyone up unneccessarily. By your logic we should drive around at 1mph so no one gets hurt or lets just scrap vehicles all together. Wrap ourselves in bubble wrap when we go out, or safer yet, not go out at all, stay in, have some tea, but cold tea because kettles are dangerous. You are 100% less likely to get burnt from tea if it's not hot.

I would be surprised if they have individual van insurance unless the van is privately owned by the courier. Big companies, ex. the Post Office set aside a sum of money as a surety to cover claims, negating the need for individual cover.

#6 - I appreciate that this is a first, but get a better dashcam, honestly. And to be fair to the ford at #8, he was moving so slowly that he only kissed the parked car - can't imagine there was any damage at all, and had the cars on the opposite side of the road not been parked so close to the turn (illegally close) would probably have been a complete non-event.

Not illegal in private carparks, which supermarkets tend to be. Only illegal on council owned property. Selfish, yes.

@@noodlechild666 Worth being careful though, supermarkets employ CCTV enforcement companies who may well try to invoice you for abusing the disabled bays. It is an interesting anomaly that the supermarket must provide the spaces but there is no law under which abusers can be prosecuted.

Also those shops have go accept non blu badge disabled not all get a blue badge yet will still coms under equality act and private car parks tend to accept that, I in friends car, as don't drive rarely go to airshows and park in disabled I take my bus pass, disability paperwork and my council issued disabled registration under equality act, all. Private car parks should understand there responsibility under that act, they can't say u have to shoe blu badge as blue badge isn't valid on a private site
