A Super Productive Day at the Library!

NOTE: PLEASE STAY HOME; SOCIAL DISTANCING IS ESSENTIAL AT THE MOMENT. Just to clarify, I filmed this video on the 8th of March before social distancing was advised in the UK. Since I was in public places, I was of course still washing my hands frequently and sanitising objects before using them (with 70% alcohol sanitiser) -- but I wasn't yet self-isolating. As of now, I have been self-isolating for 4 days (and before it was officially advised by the government). I cannot stress the importance of STAYING HOME AT THE MOMENT. Social Distancing is the most important thing we can be doing right now!! -- I still wanted to share this video because I thought it could provide motivation & it was already edited --

Ruby, alcohol sanitiser is for bacteria. Viruses are stronger and harder to combat! That's why we need to wash our hands with soap!

@@katalovesresets7487 Not true. Hand sanitizer works for a corona virus. Perhaps not effective for all kinds of viruses, but it does kill corona virus. That being said. If you have the option of washing your hands, you should do that instead. Hand sanitizer is only recommended to be used when you can't wash your hands. Please don't spread misinformation! Follow the recommendations of WHO.

Ruby, I don't know if you'll read this, but I'm in the transition phase from high school to college, but also the pandemic has everything shut but it doesn't change the fact that you, YES YOU RUBY Have inspired me every single day to love and enjoy what I studied. tips on what you can do if your library is not currently open because we all need to stay safe but also stay positive: -make a video call study session with your friends! -go for a walk! if you have a park or woods or nature around you, it can be really calming to get out of the house. -when you're done with your studying, make sure to have a nice and healthy meal. take time to make it good :) -if you currently have to study from your home, it can be nice to change your study space every now and then. alter between studying in your room, in the kitchen, ever living room unless you get distracted. don't stay in your bed though, keep sleep and work separate hope this helps anyone else who misses the library

As an American librarian, I was fascinated to see the call numbers for your books snd how the library was set up. Love it! I remember as an undergrad going to the library, finding one call number in my topic, going to that section, browsing the books, pulling a giant stack to review, looking in the TOC and index to find information, and then deciding what to take with me and what to leave. Gosh I never thought i would say this but I also really miss going to the gym!! I went to the grocery store today, had to wait in line because only 50 people could be in the store at a time, then I came straight back home, ate lunch in the garden, then studied for the rest of the day. I'm in Bloomington, Indiana. There are only 2 public libraries in the whole county, and they are both closed for 3 weeks! This morning, I checked the website for the library in Nashville, an artist town to the east. The website just said their programs were canceled. So I drove all the way over there, and . . . they were closed! Even all the shops were closed, except for restaurants with drive through windows. One of the Kroger grocery stores has a cafe', that's closed. Bloomingfoods has a cafe', that's closed. I discovered one public library in Spencer, in the next county west of here. They will be open until Monday, March 23rd. It's such a drag that the libraries are all closing! I am so looking forward to seeing them open again.
