I hope you are keeping a book journal of the books you've read. I have a hard cover journal and I write one line for each: Date, Title, author, fiction or non fiction, my 0-5 rating, and what # book that is for the year. If it's audio I'll note that and who narrated. I've had my journal since 1999 - probably a long time before you were even born :) - My only regret is not starting the journal when I was your age. I now also use GoodReads. Some prefer a spreadsheet. I prefer both online and absolutely a hardcover journal. It's interesting to see what topics I was into at the time and also how my reading tastes have also changed over time. Even though I am much older than you, I love your channel. Because of the topic it’s dealing with it’s often judged upon even though the writing and narration of the story is so so good. I’ve actually read it about 30 times now since I first read it in spring 2019. Yes I really do love it. By the way your copy looks so beautiful and I’m motivated to read it in English now as well. Actually, Thomas Mann and his family are very...let's say interesting. They're the most famous German family when it comes to literature. Thomas Mann for an instance was attracted to young boys, which is very obvious in "death in venice" and due to that he had a very difficult relationship to his sons because he felt so disgusted of his attraction to his own sons. Because of that, the boys really suffered mentally throughout their lives. There were a lot of other "scandals" in the family (for example the oldest son had a sexual relationship with his sister) so if you'd be interested in that you could look into it.

I wouldnt say that he is the most famous German author... Also, you should be careful calling him a pedophile just because he wrote a novella about an older man's attraction to a teenager. Stating rumours about the family as truths is disrespecful as well. There is no proof that two of his children had an incestuous relationship. He was pretty open about is homosexuality in his later years, but again, no proof that he felt sexually attracted to his own children. I dont know what your sources are but I doubt that they are reputable.
@myriamldnbrg24814 жыл бұрын
@@sahralenny I don't know if he was a paedophile, as in being attracted to actual small children, but as far as i know he was attracted to boys in their teenage years. He wrote about that in his journals. And I didn't mean to say that he was the most famous author, I'm sorry I didn't make that clear enough. What I wanted to say was that there were a lot of rather famous authors in his family (thomas' father, his son,...),making the family as a whole very famous.

I am not a speed reader, but a speed watcher... it's much easier. I started watching everything at my PC with 1.3x speed and increased gradually, now I am watching everything at 1.8x speed at least. It doesn't affect my enjoyment negatively at all, quite the contrary, I now find the normal pace to be dull because I became too empatient lol.

@@duzypokoj1151 i do the same for most youtube videos because most youtubers speak slowly and dont say much also i can watch more videos that way

Duży Pokój I feel like watching videos are different. Maybe because I’m a big watcher of the beauty community and let me tell you... sometimes 2x speed is not fast enough lol. They will ramble for 4 minutes about stuff nobody cares about in the beginning, or talk about one product for 10 minutes, it’s insane. Whereas with a book, you’re hoping all the details will lead to something and not just filler words so you want to play more attention??

As a slow reader, I am amazed by Ruby! It takes me all day to read a few hundred pages.

Hey Ruby. Loved this video again! Maybe a idea for the next time: a list of which book you liked the most and way. Maybe you can make a list of them. Again, loved this video.❤️👋

This doesn't quite add up: at 9:45 she's on page 75 and 55minutes later she's at page 152 - so she's read 77 pages in undr and hour. Then in under 20 minutes she's read about 48 pages. So speed change of 1 pages per minute! If even remotely true, must be amazingly fast reader at speead of between 700-800 words per minutes!!!

I know my reading speed changes depending on how exciting/dense the material is -- on average, my reading speed for fiction (when not speed reading, which I will sometimes do with academic papers) is 400-500 words per minute though x

Be aware not every book has the same words per page or font size

I don't think a page per minute is too unrealistic? I tend to read between 1/2 a page and 2 pages a minute, tends to the quicker with fiction and slower with dense academic text. What confuses me more than being able to read so fast is being able to really enjoy/understand books if reading them in one sitting. I could never read more than 2 books a day; it's not about speed, it's just about wanting to have time to process and enjoy them. 48 pages in 20 minutes seems really fast!

I tend to read a page in 20-30 seconds.

She read around 1500 pages in 16 hours... If you substract the time she took in between to make food and explain stuff, that's 100 pages an hour, non-stop. Not really buying it unless you're skimming through the pages. Yes, you CAN do it, but how much sticks? Is it fun? Or is it a competition? A lot of the things she's reading have sentences that are meant to make you stop and enjoy the way they are built up etc etc. You can't do that if you rush over them. To each their own but if I see these kind of videos I always get the feeling that it's more rushrushrush to be able to say an insane number more than really to read, understand, and enjoy the book.

You're just amazing! Last Sunday I participated in a read-a-thon, started at 9:30 am and finished at 1:30 am of the next day. I was reading a big book and I didn't even finish it even though I read 500 pages 😂😂😂😂 and it was one story! How can you focus on so many stories in so little time?? Chapeau 🎩
