I watched this film probably 3-4.years ago. Watched it again last week and completely forgot the spoiler. I literally sat up and thought OMG, how did i forget this!!!! It was even better the second time around. Last night I decided to watch it by myself and focus completely on the movie. Wow, what a different perspective you get when you know the full plot. You pick up so many clues here and there. Loved your review. I loved the ending and Sam came full circle from his first open mic. Probably one of my top 10 movies now and the songs just make it the great movie it is. Thanks for the review, even though i'm seeing it 4 years later!!!!

One of my "recent" favorites, especially the music. Great review and insights. Too bad this is the one and only movie in your entire lineup that I've actually seen. Not sure if it's my bad or yours. :)

A good movie and good music. The lyrics were a nice play. The ending, I'm not as onboard quite as much...but it does circle his arch back to a reset where perhaps he needed to go for the movie to work.

I watched it on a plane (obviously after the "love, antosha" trailer broke my heart), but I'm also hard of hearing, so I don't think I was gonna be transported by the music to the same degree anyway. I don't think of myself as a super film savvy person, so I came looking for a review to see if I was "right" in liking the film or if that was just my ignorance talking. I really enjoy your style, and plan to keep watching.

Jill, Jill, Jill (picture that with a horizontal shaking head).... you watched RUDDERLESS on an airplane and admit that sin to me! I am in tears just imagining what you missed in the soundtrack as it was drowned out by a couple of Boeing engines.
