Lol John I was waiting for you to notice the difference in the gatesman uniform when he came back out. You were so close when you mentioned the sash on the boxmans curisse, I thought you would notice that gatesman had returned without it. Also that would be the reason the chitsman went in after the gatesman returned to remove his curisse. Thanks for the video.

Wow! The utter arrogance and disrespect by the tourists is getting way out of hand! How these guards can remain so composed is amazing really! You don't need to understand any particular language in order to know that there is a trooper headed straight at you, and that you should move! What's worse is that so many thought this was funny! As usual, thank you John for making it known just how rude this was!

I was in London in the mid 1980's. While I was there, a tourist tried to start a fight with one of the guards because his girlfriend was flirting with him. As I remember it, the tourist was knocked to the ground, the police surrounded and arrested the tourist and he was taken off... later that afternoon, when we got back to our hotel, I learned the police picked up his luggage and he was sent back to his country.

Oh deary me ! He probably wanted to appear macho in front of his girl friend (rarely ends well). Trying to pick a fight with real active service soldier on ceremonial duty could only end one way. That's a valuable life lesson, certainly an expensive one, I hope he took note. There are a couple of "gentlemen" who stage pretend fights between guards and provocative tourists. Probably for the purpose of making fake videos. It is usually pretty obvious what is going on. The pretend uniform is so scruffy and slovenly compared with the real thing, quite apart from actually getting bits wrong. Paddington Bear does better IMHO.

These tourists think they are at a amusement park, and they are outright rude. This is a real military installation, and these men and women, and YES, the horses are on active duty. This is not Disneyland, and if those tourists cannot show the respect these soldiers should get, then it is time to ban them and not allow the "petting" of horses and standing in front of the soldiers and making ridicule of them.

It's me again the American that loves the UK. Is it just me or is this problem literally getting worse by the day? Even the horses are fed up with this crap. These people are so freaking entitled it's sickening! They're going to either have to start closing to the public or give the Troopers clearance to put these people on their ass if they're in the way. I honestly do think part of the problem (a small part) is people don't understand that these are NOT amusement park employees in costumes, but are actual British soldiers in their official Royal Duties.

The problem is the street outside is a public right of way, which the forelegs of the horse are on. The hind legs are on MOD land. But in order to change the guard the horses have to exit on to public land. On which some stupid people stand complaining. It would be sad if they started to limit attendance or charge for it. I can't see how or where the queue would line up. I do love your videos, they are well balanced and very informative.

The problem is that many tourists or let's say people in general because even the locals are often quite blinded about this - they all often forget that they are stepping into a small world of tradition and culture and not into a theme park and this leads to more and more problems. Not just locally but all over the world. People often lack respect and unfortunately also cultural understanding, as it is often no longer taught. At least that's what I often see in the museum where I work and it's annoying. It annoys everyone who are involved in such situations.

I guess I don't understand why the public and tourists are allowed where they are in the first place, to even get in the way of the guards. Like it needs, not the guards, not the police but a further subset of a security patrol , part of the tourism staff... that would help keep the public in their place... behind some lines either actual or painted. Possibly either charge a fee for tourists or sadly discontinue such free access... maybe restrict it to go through eoth a guide. Or keep it how it is and find some ppl that just dont get it. Surely some of the guards are perfectly fine moving the public out of the way... get a little rise out of making way for the guard... mist ppl move quickly ajd respectfully, when surprised from behind... this type of response isn't the norm... thankfully...

Maybe their uniform's were damp as they had to come out straight away after arriving, and their breast plates had to be removed, that's the only thing I can think of , it wouldn't be very pleasant for them working in damp uniforms. PS. Loved it when the guard kissed the horse ❤

They wouldn’t do this in Korea, or Russia, they’d probably be shot on the spot, and as bad as it is to say it....I could nearly agree with that, they wouldn’t make that mistake twice that’s for sure. having seen so many video's from the change of horses i have noticed there often is a huge confusion about the second white line. Why don't they paint the second white line red or yellow instead of white ? Having 2 different colours for the lines will avoid a lot of confusion and it also makes it easier for police and soldiers to guide the tourists to the restricted position.

This has led to more and more restrictions, and the locals are not able to enjoy themselves. Please, tourists should learn the manners of the country they are visiting and have respect for the country. My dream is to visit London someday!❤

People seem to have no idea that this is the Guards' place of work. However I have noticed some tourists see Horse guards as nothing more than a tourist attraction. There is no respect for the guards or even other tourists trying to take their photos. They push in and even ignore small children. Just stand in front of them like they are not there. The lack of general respect is sad at times. I watch London City walks daily. Love the channel.
