What an outstanding lecture by my esteemed journalist and political/economic analyst, Rufa'i. His insightful presentation left me hopeful that, in the near future, we will witness the realization of our dream Nigeria, a nation led by selfless, impartial, and enlightened leaders who prioritize the collective good over personal interests, tribal affiliations and religious biases. May we soon have the opportunity to experience a Nigeria where inclusivity, justice and prosperity reign supreme, and where every citizen can thrive. Ameen!

Your review was brilliant but the root cause of all of these problems is the conflicting interests between the Northeast, North Central, Northwest, Southeast, South South and Southwest that the Federal government has been pretending that they don't exists and ignore them as they make fruitless efforts to achieve national unity for years. Nigeria will unite if they do the right thing by allowing every zone to control their GOD given resources and determine their own destiny. Let the zones negotiate the Nigerian union and the terms of the union be respected by everyone including the armed forces and police. Nigeria should stop pretending that Tribes and religions don't matter, and all of these should be sacrificed for national unity. This can never be achieved in 10, 000 years. Tribes, religions and cultural differences should be acknowledged respected and mutual respect for one another should be encouraged. Every Tribe should be encouraged to write their own histories and keep their cultures without been judgmental. Even the present constitution was made based on the interests of the north that's why it is not working. A new constitution acceptable to all interests must be made.

Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. The corruption, greed and hatred of one another in Nigeria from inside our hearts needs thorough Repentance by everyone. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: But sin is a reproach to any people. If a people also do not ever take responsibility for their own actions and failures, then they cannot repent and change. Irresponsibility and victim mentality will only lead to inactions and worsening problems. Let Nigerians wake up and take responsibility for where they are a be truthful to themselves. The deceptions and corruptions is too much. Travel to other nations, you cry for Nigeria Rufai

Here is the truth we are never meant to be in one country that's is why it's said Nigeria is a mere geographic location. Each tribe will do better if they are on their own because their leaders will not be able to steal and cheat. Let us be honest yoruba contributes absolutely nothing to Nigeria. But if they are their own they will figure out how to develop their nation. We need to go our separate ways and be good neighbors.

I respect you alot Rufai, but disagree on some of your points here. Yeah the British distorted alot about Nigeria, but since 1960 they left can we still kp blaming them? Nigeria was never meant to be one country, which was what Ojukwu wanted to fix. There was once a country Yugoslavia, but they were not meant to be. In the 90s, it finally broke up to 5 nations now. Nigeria needs to break up first. Hausa_Fulani dont belong with rest_of_us.

Pakistan and Bangladesh were not "forced" to break away from India; instead, the partition of India in 1947 created Pakistan, which included East Pakistan (later Bangladesh), as a separate Muslim-majority nation, meaning the separation was based on the political decision to divide the British Indian subcontinent along religious lines, not forced by India itself. Very good lecture, I learned a bit from it. I said a bit because you didn't say the whole truth about the genesis of Nigeria's problems. Yes, you made a good point by saying Nigeria was not designed to work but you didn't mention the reason why, like what Late Pa Awolowo said that "Nigeria is Not a Nation, but a country of many nations". You called for unity, how can there be unity in a country of many nations or of many different nationalities with different languages and different cultural values? How?
