Metalhead Reactions when he was homeless at a young age all he had was his pit bull “Boomer” which is his tattoo at the top of his back. Pit bulls in his video has nothing to do with fighting dogs. Also, this song speaks on his times on the streets. Slippin speaks on the effects of the streets. This was one of his biggest songs and you wouldn’t have gotten “Slippin” without Ruff Ryders Anthem. (Which this song displayed the street team(four wheelers & motorcycles which was the brand of the overall group)

DMX had five workers under his employment that held one duty: Dog care. 3. DMX was *not* convicted for dog fighting, nor dog deaths; the State considers owning a mass amount of animals without any of them registered -- "Cruelty". 4. Most of the dog remains discovered, died of natural causes. Being pit bulls, it's assumed that any given pit bull can grow to be naturally aggressive; like humans. 4b. I was at work when he died. I was smoking a cigarette outside the warehouse and seen a article saying his family would decide what to do. I walked inside the warehouse looked at my phone and got the news he died. Everybody I’m the warehouse got a speaker and all played the same song at the same time. Also, DMX has struggled with demons like many people. Unfortunately his demons was with drug addiction and animal cruelty. He is making a comeback and is clean now. If you see recent interviews, he looks and sounds healthier. I'm still rooting for him. We've all gone through trials and tribulations. I just hope he is mentally and physically stable and makes more music.

Those animal cruelty cases were just a way to get him infront of a judge. This Guy is only friend in life was his dog (Boomer) The Guy considered himself a dog.he he never got convicted of it though. A lot of the animal cruelty charges that X got charged with, is usually due to neglect. If you do more research into it, you'd see more into it. He'd often go on tour for months and leave his dogs with caretakers, and a lot of these caretakers would neglect their responsibilities, not feeding the dogs, etc. Neighbours would report the condition of these dogs, and because he is the owner of the dogs, he gets slapped with the fine. Many of the caretakers he had he personally fired. The only argument one can have about animal cruelty with X and dogs is that sometimes he would have dogs fight as he trains them. Back in the day he'd train his dogs to be vicious. I'm not sure if that has changed though. He feeds them well, and take great care of them otherwise

If my memory is right he was arrested on suspicion of dog fighting but it was quickly proved wrong. some dog weren't fed right so they still went at him, he plead guilty for cruelty to avoid jail time. He claimed that the caretaker was responsible for the dogs while he was on tour. One thing about X, he always admits his mistakes, so don't believe everything you read.

An interesting fact about Ruff Ryder's anthem, straight from DMX's mouth in interviews, he actually didn't like the song and didn't want to record it, at all. He found it was too basic, and because the label wanted something a bit more commercial, and Swizz Beatz (the producer of Ruff Ryder's Anthem) nagged him to do it, he did it. He wrote it in about 15 mins.

The caretaker of the property quit and walked out and the dogs were later found neglected. DMX claimed that he had no idea about this but was charged as he was the property owner. DMX was homeless for a while with nothing but dogs around him. He had "one luv boomer" tattooed across his back in memory of the first dog he had when he was homeless. SPVCS True story - I grew up in new york & new jersey& i remember as a kid meeting X plenty of times in Yonkers & the Bronx. He was from my grandmas block & when I was a kid I always used to see him with his crew & like 15 pitts all on one chain.. ⛓ lolol just insane he loves dogs & animals but he never once hurt a dog or killed any dogs from what i heard he nearly killed a man who tried to steal one of his dog's & ended up burning his car 😂😂 this man is John wick for dogs. Trust me.. Back in his day although he has such a record X was a humble street dude who always had much respect in New York. My father & uncle owned a motorcycle shop back from 1990 from 1999. DMX and other 90s rappers are a tough case for me. Today if someone does/did something you'd hear about it before or around the time they came out. With DMX and other rappers, you didn't have that access to info so for me I fell in love with their music and then found out about their personal life. Big Pun is another example that I love his music but after he died footage came out of him pistol whipping his wife. DMX is even tougher because on top of me personally loving dogs, DMX also purported to love dogs. He has a huge tattoo of his dog who passed away, Boomer, on his back. When he first became famous he talked about how he was homeless for years and Boomer was his only companion/friend and how much he loved Boomer. Then years later the animal cruelty/dog fighting stuff comes out and it's tough to reconcile the two. Unfortunately, DMX is from a culture (inner city culture) where dog fighting is considered normal and he somehow thinks he can love dogs and still subject them to that. It's no excuse, but it's the same situation as Michael Vick.
