I saw Ruffian live at the Coaching Club American Oaks, later on in 1995, people dont remember this was a very strong group of fillies, Copernica (One eyed Filly) was actually higher rated early on as was Hot n'Nasty, You had Sir Ivors Sorrow and Point in time, as well as Laughing bridge. Ruffian beat them all and beat them handily. One reason records where shattered, as this group could fly, Ruffian was just faster...

Ruffian could have gone around again and they would have never caught her. When those horses bunched up behind that was just an illusion. They were desperate and all they could hope for was that she couldn't get 12 furlongs.

Please don't refer to this accomplishment as the "Triple Tiara." It was the Filly Triple Crown. A crown refers to royalty. Anyone can buy a tiara. It was still known as the Filly Triple Crown when she won it, and the other name is demeaning.

I take your point about it being the filly triple crown when Ruffian won it, and will change it for this video for that purpose. I don't think it is "demeaning", as such; the NYRA just revised the name to "Triple Tiara" for a more catchy name, in their opinion. After revisiting this video again after many years, I actually don't care for it either, to be honest.
