Hey ruffled I'm curious what do you think the 4 flags represent in galar and do you think we could get some answers in the dlc. Also I hope they have the 2 other people connected with Leon and Sonia in the dlc as well and I say that because Leon wears diamonds and Sonia wears hearts. I think Giovanni started with charmander and his 2nd Pokémon was meowth. But when charmander got destroyed by a ground type he gave up on it before it evolved to charizard and traded it for a ryhorn, perceivably a stronger Pokémon. Giovanni wouldn’t abide having a perceivably weak Pokémon on his team. This would explain his attachment to Persian and his reliance on rydon

Giovanni's Rhydon also appeared in the main Pokémon anime where it is loaned to Jessie to battle Ash in the Viridian City Gym in "The Battle of the Badge". So it's understandable why Rhyhorn can be his true possible starter.

It's the various levels. Ruffled is loud, Silph is quiet. I had to constantly turn the volume up and down as the 2 traded lines.

I dont think Giovanni ever had a caterpie. In all of his managa appearances hes used a beedrill. Plus it talks about how he has an emotional connection too it knowing his speciality type is actually ground type. But I could missing something

I think Surge could of had an Elekid as his starter but went with Raichu as his ace when he became a gym leader as to not overpower gym challengers when Elekid evolved Also wouldn't Zubat be more of Kogas 1st Pokemon?

Just a personal opinion. In Black/White, Cheren's starter is one of the 3 starter pokemons, but in Black2/White2 his gym consists of Normal type pokemons. Their teams in gyms are by no means a way to estimate their starter pokemon. You never know if Brock's starter was actually Abra and Misty's starter was a Pikachu. They can always change their team, their city, and stuffs. None of these can be confirmed, so I get that this is all speculation and theory. Liked the video though

I think Giovanni's true starter was a Nidoran because they are found close to Viridian City at a low level; perfect for a young Giovanni. Both Nidoking and Nidoqueen are in his team at Tohjo Falls, but the Rhyhorn line isn't... one would assume he would bring his starter when he left Kanto.

In pokémon red/blue giovanni's highest level pokémon was a lv50 rhydon and in pokémon yellow his highest level pokémon were both a lv55 rhydon and a lv55 nidoking So i guess his starter was a rhyhorn or a nidoran male Or It was his charmander of the pokémon origins.

Here are what I think the true starters for the Kanto Gym leaders 1, Brock Onix 2, Misty Squrtle or Staryu 3, L’t Surge Pikachu 4, Erika Oddish or Bulbasaur 5, Koga Koffing 6, Janine Zubat 7, Sabrina Abra 8, Blaine Pontia or Charmander 9, Giovanni Meowth or Rhyhorn and as extra as he could over from Giovanni 10, Blue Squrtle.
