Rug Tufting Full Process // KAYTRANADA Edition

Kaytranada's album "BUBBA" is one of my all-time favorite albums. I listen to it on the daily and especially while I am making rugs. It only felt right to make a rug of the cover for my room and for the next KZbin video.

Love Kaytranada! Respect! I’m happy to hear you enjoy, I purchased my tufting gun on eBay from China, although I believe Amazon has some, as well as some other smaller tufting shops. For a projector, I found a cheap one on Amazon that I was able to connect my laptop to. Unsure of the exact name, but many will do just fine.

Amazing work! How were you able to convert the photo of the album to a design where you are able to tuft it with single colours?

Thank you! I use adobe illustrator to separate all the colors into blocks

How long did it take you to learn to tuft portraits?

For the color shading the complexion, do you use an app on your phone or is it a computer application like photoshop?

Yeah I use Adobe Illustrator for the color blocks

How do you find these images ?

How long to you wait for the glue to dry before putting the backing on?

I usually let it dry overnight. If I have a fan available, it can usually dry in a couple hours
