Best thing about rugby is that after each of these tackles the game continues, you just gotta shrug it off and play the ball. 🇳🇿🇳🇿

Np ruck n maul here bud it's league
@docgonzales4 жыл бұрын
This was 99% rugby league highlights. Its all about yardage after contact, no recycling rucks or mauls needed in this game. With 6 plays in possession the early plays are the conservative plays , basic north south running, so mix that with the no blocking rule and running into a brick wall of defenders lining up and charging from 10 yards back makes up a huge chunk of the spectacle. Ps shoulder charge is now illegal so most of these are now penalised, arm wrap now has to be attempted.

I played Gaelic Football as a kid back in Ireland, I moved to Australia & thought I was hard. I didn't know what hard was till I played Rugby. I played full back & made it to Canterbury Bulldogs reserve team (before they were Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs) averaged 3 concussions a year & ended up with2 torn ACL's, 5 broken ribs, 2 dislocations & 1 broken neck.

The competition your talking about in Las Vegas is the 7s tournament which is another form of rugby but with only 7 players on the field, it’s a internationals tournament that happens every year and they basically travel all over the world like Hong Kong, Dubai, Russia and many more. 7s is a faster version of rugby union plus using the size field so basically you need to be kinda fast and really really fit.
@garthrogers22694 жыл бұрын
Gabe, the Las Vegas tournament is Rugby 7s and part of World Rugby 7s Championship. Rugby 7s is the shortened version of rugby union that is in the Olympics. Most of those hits were from Rugby League, are from years ago and are mostly illegal.

Rugby league = Checkers. A fun game, to play and watch, easy to understand, anyone can pick up the game quite quickly and easily and enjoy it. Rugby union = chess. Harder to understand at first, takes longer to learn all the rules, but once mastered is a very enjoyable game to watch, especially for the nuisances, tactics and strategies used.

The difference to American Football Rugby Union and Rugby League are non stop plays for 80mins. Unlike AF that has a vast number of stoppages.Gabe saw a Rugby 7's Tournament that is slightly harder than touch football and goes for 7 mins. a game

Clothes lines are illegal head hi tackles by arm is extend like a hook and when ran into it it is deemed illegal and the player will be penalized by putting him in the sin bin but this applys in both leage and union.

Watch a game or some highlights. You'll see what makes the game interesting. Positional play, lineouts, and scrums. The hits happen, but it's remarkable how rarely they hurt either party. It's a trial of strength and endurance as well power. And it's the ultimate team game. Great games could be England Scotland at Twickenham inthe 2019 6 nations, or France New Zealand in 1999 at the world cup.

The injury rate, and concussion rate, in Rugby is actually lower than Football. As because the players don’t have pads they tackle with better technique, e.g. they don’t lead with their heads. They train to put their heads to the side of the player they are tackling so that the contact is with the shoulder and not the head/neck. In Football, players just dive at each other using pads as weapons

I'm a Rugby union fan ,but can appreciate league.I would explain the difference ( granted from a union fans perspective)would be the worst union game is far worse to watch, as a fan, than the worst league game.However the best union game is far better than the best league,more variety and subtlety
@docgonzales4 жыл бұрын
Keith Evans pretty much spot on, but then again I'm getting old. 1994 was the peak for league and then they mixed the rules up too much, the interchange bench being the culprit. Up until then league was like a boxing match with ferocious beginnings, comebacks, rope a dope tactics , little guys shining at the end when the big men blow out of puff, coaches replacements were more consequential to the game, drag a player early he aint coming back, the team down to12 because injuries have wiped the bench,. All that is gone now and instead of a manual car shifting gears its all automatic, players roles are indistinguishable and body shape and skill set are homogenous due to the high tempo all the time. Its no surprise Union went pro in 1995 because the actual spectacle of rugby league in 1994 was incredible and was in danger of being left behind.

Great video guys alot of those hits were illegal u aren't allowed tackle someone above shoulder level, that's a foul and can lead to yellow card, rugby has added safety law's to prevent concussions, if u tackle someone u are responsible to make sure that they land safely after u tackle that player, rugby is tough yes, but that's not all in the game, watch games highlights u will enjoy it

The close lines are not legal hits they will be told off for that and send of for maybe 10 minutes and come back on.

In the 80s all these hits were legal, After a few deaths the game has been working to prevent this. Played from 5yrs to adult, Gridiron is to expensive a sport to play in our Contry for equipment that's why gridiron isn't attractive to the countries in the southern hemisphere.

This is not representative of rugby ( union and league )as it is now and that was pretty much all Rugby League from years ago. Most of those hit’s were illegal. I hate this video being requested to show what the sport is about because it’s grossly misleading. You can’t take someone’s head off you can’t shoulder charge , you can’t lift someone and dump them on their heads. Fighting is not legal. Today the game is still extremely tough and people need to be prepared to play rugby but this is just utter stupidity. No tackles can be aimed above the shoulders now, arms must be used with the shoulder in the tackle . People can’t be lifted beyond the horizontal.

Paul Bresloff-Barry its rare to tale a blindside shot in rugby , aussie rules is a 360 degree game that allows blocking so even defenders in that game can get starched going for the tackle or the ball. I liken those hits to ice hockey hits rather than rugby hits.

@docgonzales4 жыл бұрын
princealex1988 not necessarily better, just way different. I love both games, rugby is like picking a lock, league is like smashing it with a hammer. As spectacles go an NRL league game outweighs a Premier rugby or Super 18 , but between countries Rugby games are way better, better than the league finals even. But the State of Origin in The NRL is at another level altogether, highest skill set and ferocity on display from both codes
