There were some good players in the Sharks team, but they also left out an entire bunch of the Boks. My team, the Stormers, aren’t doing well at the moment, but also missing the few key star players due to injury 😢 (the ones the Bulls haven’t stolen yet)

The issue is long distance travel. They only have the budget for economy long haul via Dubai for this game. Impossible to get ready for the game thereafter after two long haul flights. The organisers need to schedule better so each SA team has a block of time in Europe instead of back and forth like this.

There needs to be a big talk about the number of games players play in a year. Sharks sending a B team is the same reason why France is sending a B team to NZ for their test, players need to rest and right now a lot of the SA players are exhausted. One of the reasons why some of our players go off to Japan for an easy season.

Money is the issue for South African teams except for the Sharks. European teams have multi national superstar team and coaching setups whereas South African teams are mostly made up of locals.

Hell yes, SA teams with only locals are not good enough. They need to contract irish, french, english, scottish and islanders to increase their level.
