The speedster talks about his Springbok career, the difference between the various Bok coaches, winning in his debut test and what the great All Black, John Kirwan told him to do!

Another legend..elusive with unique step, vèry exciting player..if he got the ball something unexpected to be expected..not to be denied if close to opponents try line.. Another notable Stemmet discourse, brief yet informative.. I get impression Jacques sit on few treasure troves of stories yet to be told.

This guy was incredibly strong, different to the wings we have today - but also had a huge sidestep.

Jacques was one of those elusive players and for that reason extremely difficult to defend against.Did he ever tried inside centre?

Wait, how do you pronounce his last name? It's not like the French first name?

No, in SA we pronounce it as 'du toy', as opposed to the French way, which is 'du twa', if I am not mistaken. 😀

Just as good if not better than Kolbe and Arendse . Which is a huge statement. Jacques, Duhan vdm and Habana are the 3 wings that compete with our current wings.

In 1992 Henry Tromp and his dad beat a 16 year old to death with a fan belt. He was convicted in 1993. It was unbelievable that he was selected for the Boks in 1996. Well... Maybe not unbelievable because many thought it was acceptable to beat thieves to death. That he was picked by Markgraff, makes it all the more believable.
