That Micarda is tough material. I've made bearings out it for a steady bearing on a rake drive.

Micarda has been around for over 100 years. Mostly used in electrical applications. But all kinds of other things. The Krouts made land mines and grenades from it. U.S. made Bayonet scabbards and grips from it. Not used much on guns and knifes until Randle started using it on his knifes, then it took off. And here we are.

I bought one of these a few months ago. It seems like a very nice 1911. I also have Ruger's lightweight commander. The crazy thing is the price. You can get this full sized lightweight model for less than $600 whereas the commander version is over $900. Same frame with a 3/4-inch shorter slide and barrel for $300 MORE. Doesn't make sense does it?

Wonder how an "airweight " 1911 .45acp will hold up to heavy loads or +p 45acp loads....if there is any concerns for frame cracking

A lightweight fullsize 1911. Am I missing something here? If you're looking to save weight lop 3/4" of it and make it commander size. I suppose there are fullsize die hards who will appreciate the lighter frame. Just another 1911 variant in a sea of many. Nice try Ruger.

Hey buddy George haven't seen you lately , I have a question for you? When they changed the 32 S&W long from BP to smokeless is it as powerful as the BP round, I seen a video and the short was getting more FPS than the longs , he had a off brand cartridge company he was using, do you think they put less powder in them so they won't blow up those old guns that require BP , his shorts got 698 714 FPS, his longs got 547 498 526 FPS , he couldn't understand it, tell me what's going on 🤔 Have a great memorial day Holiday
