*Elliott:* Since YT suggested this vid (why, I have no idea) perhaps you’ll indulge considering my suggestions? Presuming so... Foremost; don’t be hesitant to regularly shoot for accuracy groups with that rifle, because for one its very capable and another doing so will improve your hunting skills (where the Ruger 6.5 CM Predator excels, over price-point competitors). Secondly, I highly suggest you consider purchasing a Magpul Hunter American (Short Action) Stock (see link, below). Doing so will _greatly_ improve your accuracy and eliminate need to fuss with Ruger factory mags (they suck, I agree). The Magpul stock will come with one (five-round) PMAG-5 7.62 AC box magazine (which accommodates 6.5 CM), and flows with this rifle nicely. Yeah I know paying upwards of $300 for a stock seems counter-intuitive for a budget rifle, albeit you’ll find doing so enables the Ruger to consistently hold its own against more precision oriented bolt guns, and I say that from lots of field experience. Put another way; I mostly shoot a Bergara B-14 HMR (chambered in 6.5 CM) and have a Ruger Predator (6.5 CM, also) fitted in a Magpul Hunter stock, as a loaner for friends, etc. I also hand load ammo for precision. Bottom-line: I can take either rifle and reach out to over 1,000 yards, interchangeably, without much fuss -- which is saying a lot considering the B-14’a rep for out-of-the-box accuracy. Anyway, not meaning to come off like a Magpul fanboy. It’s just that the Ruger Predator really takes off when one gets away from the factory flexi-wonder stock, be that from; Bell and Carlson, Boyd's, Macmillan or even a chassis system. tinyurl.com/3p9x2e36

I have the exact same rifle, the magwell conversion is a must on this rifle if you haven't done so already. Called up Ruger and sent the parts for $26, then ordered the 5 round Ruger mags to go with it.

Purchased my 6.5 Creedmoor Predator on 11/23/2022... It came with the magwell conversion direct from Ruger and a 3-round box magazine. Looks like Ruger may no longer be shipping the troublesome rotary magazine.

My bolt sounded similar to yours and most ruger Americans. I got rid of the sound by cleaning polishing and oiling the bolt. It’s super quiet and much smoother. It also doesn’t get hung if you don’t pull it straight back every Time.

You need to get the MCarbo trigger spring kit. Huge difference, mine went from 4lbs on lowest adjustment, down to a great 2 3/4lbs. Best bang for buck mod.

I know this video has been out awhile , but did you know that if you remove the original scope mount you can mount the scope lower right to the gun . It brings it down enough that you don't need a cheek riser with most scopes .

Ruger will sell you a kit to change to magpul mags. I think around 17 bucks.

I've got a magpul mag for mine that helped with the reloading. Also picked up a kydex cheek riser off Amazon.

There are conversion kits to use different magazines. Ruger also makes a "308 multi-caliber" magazine, that also fits the 6.5 creedmoor rifles, that works much better (it's a standard box magazine, instead of a rotary magazine; you're right that the rotary mags are awful; the box mags work great though....just lose 1 round of capacity though.)

@@wrxs1781 If my Ruger Predator is typical it appears Ruger ditched rotary magazine. Mine came direct from Ruger with the conversion kit already installed with a 3-round box magazine that does indeed work flawlessly.

Do you not consider the mounted bipod to be an upgrade? My 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger American Predator came from the factory already converted to accept box magazines. The 3-round magazine that came with it functions flawlessly. I believe (have not confirmed) this new Ruger Predator also accepts the box 5 and 10 round magazines.

Absolutely, I’ve put Magpul Stock, Muzzle brake, and lightened the trigger. Vortex FFP optic, Long story short, 1/2 groups with Hornady ELD, all day long. This rifle shoots just a great as my coworkers sniper rifle on our swat team. And for a fraction of the cost.... you won’t be disappointed....

Just get the Magpul hunter stock. It's more sturdier, better accuracy and the overall feel of the rifle is nicer. Pro, it comes with a cheek riser, Con, it's a bit heavier than the oem stock.
