5.7 doesn't have much gas, only 5-7gr of powder in those things. A rimfire can has enough volume for it, especially firing it out of a 16" barrel. Many of those aren't built strong enough for it, though.

Great work Ruger! I'm glad you kept the grip-fed magwell concept. I'm glad more 57s are being made also. Can that mag release fit a Ruger 57 pistol I wonder? I have a MP-57 if so I'd like to put that on!😁

I'm glad about more 57 guns too. Makes the ammo cheaper cause 6 months ago 5.7 was like $53 for a box of 50. My brother just picked up the ruger lc charger and 2 boxes of 50 each box was only $38 each. So quite a bit of a price drop in 6 months

I don't know why you have to go through a bunch of BS to buy a suppressor. It should be just like buying a gun, just do a background check just like on a 4473 form and as long as you're not a felon you should be able to get it. I don't think it would be worth the money to have to wait and go through a Stamp Act tax or whatever it is to get one.

Is this cartridge possible in a bolt action rifle? Did you want to avoid similarities between the 9mmPC and LC ? Are there any advantages of loading the LC through the pistol grip instead of having a mag well in front of the trigger?

Savage used to make a bolt-action chambered in 5.7 x 28. I believe they have since discontinued it. The advantage of loading the LC through the pistol grip is that the barrel starts more-or-less directly above the trigger, so the overall package is shorter than an AR-15, even if the AR has the same 16.5-inch barrel.

Yes there's several advantages to a grip-fed magwell design. First it basically turns your gun into a bullpup without the drawbacks of a bullpup. It shaves about 4 inches off the total length of the gun by not having a magwell out front. It also makes reloads much more intuitive. Even in the dark a person can clap thier hands always and always find the hand. It's instinctive etc. So now you can always find the magwell much easier than if it was put front or in the stock somewhere like with bullpups or conventional mag areas of other rifles. It's the same as loading a regular pistol now and very fast. No fumbling around. This unique design even allows a person to cheekshoot this rig without a stock on it in fact. I've done it with my MP-57 in fact. I'm glad Ruger stuck with this design.

I know it's been a while since you wrote this comment. Another reason mag in the grips is the Ruger LC CARBINE mag will work the same mag in Rugers 5.7 pistol. They are interchangeable and it's sweet if you have both.

If it's a rifle it doesn't fall into the handgun roaster that mandates microstamping. However the question in CA is are they calling it an "assault rifle". The threaded barrel may make that so. If so they need a politically correct version for sales in that state.

You can’t get that from a recording. It clips sounds well below the range of even the quietest suppressor. The best you can do is watch the (usually heavily interested) vlogger’s reaction.

Complete waste of time and huge waste of money. 5.7x28 is expensive AND pointless. Here are some examples of useful things to make. Expand the PCC ammo menu, 10mm and 45acp. Make hunting 1911 longslides. Bring back magnum pistol caliber carbines other than bolt action, like lever actions, maybe add 454Casull and 480Ruger to the carbines.
