Viability of the 380 has been proven by Paul Harrell on his KZbin channel. It will blow through a meat target, and the damage is phenomenal.o

Odee Dillon Correct! Paul Harrell’s meat target comparing the.380 to a 9 MM in the same sized pistol made me a believer in the .380. Rim fired cartridges just are not that reliable..

Does a .380 sound very unique? For example I notice more of a solid echoing pop that just sounds like a hard thud. Its very chilling actually.

@Stefano Dawg Advancements in other weapons and ammunition, mainly. That and the need to carry more rounds. I'd rather have a .357, 44mag, 10mm etc. against a drug-crazed maniac than a .380 or 9mm, but we're poorer than the government's police and military (even in other countries) and the need to have a gun concealed, and thus have a smaller gun, makes us less of a target. Everyone knows the local cop has a gun on him... my two cents.

Great presentation is just subscribed. I just bought the 22 version. I am surprised Ruger does not make these a little more ergonomic for the safety and for lefties. Bang out of the park with the small 10 round 22 though a much larger round magazine would sell like crazy. People love to shoot a 22. I think round count is seriously underestimated as an important factor to manufactures. Many of us when picking up a pistol the first thing we think of is round count and how that limits our defensive punches. A small 22 like this with 15 to 20 rounds would be fantastic. But fix the safety and ambidextrous issue.

@@Funhaus_Ryan The rim has a bigger diameter than the rest of the case. A curved mag would be preferable, but that would make a terrible grip for a handgun. As long as the rim of the upper round is in front of the rim of the one under it, it shouldn't be a problem tough.

As a new shooter I enjoy the LCP II 22lr and have gone through multiple shooter training sessions and various shooting drills with stationary and moving targets. While I am still somewhat slow drawing & shooting from a concealed holster in 1.5 sec I am reliably (with multiple hits) engaging the various targets (incl. hostage taker targets) with the LCP II 22lr. Also enjoy shooting my wife's P17 or her TX22.

The dollar bill size reference is really cool I’m looking at this video trying to find a small but effective low recoil hand gun to get my wife into shooting and trying to find a gun that fits her hands while not holding very many hand guns in my life time it’s been hard to judge the size of the guns compared to peoples hand as they vary in shape and size but the dollar is the same rectangle it’s always been. Good idea it needs to catch on more it’s an excellent reference 👍🏼

Great option I carry one sometimes and have used it (22lr) version in a situation. I'm a huge fan of it. Went well for me So glad I had the 22 that day, cuz my normal 9mm/357 winter carry were at home. Threat stopped and bonus that persons went to jail alive so no lengthy non-sense for us. Had the 357 come out poor guy would be in half. Ended enough lives in the army, glad that it was another however I'd defend my family again in a heart beat. Love plinking this thing to

I would carry the LCP ii in .22LR if I had to. I currently own one in .380, However, my experience with .22LR even in a reliable firearm, is that the round is more likely to fail to fire than a centerfire pistol round. Buying quality ammo and making sure it functions reliably through your firearm is a must if you intend to use it for self defense. Even then, I would practice clearing the chamber until it becomes second nature.

I had an LCP .380 and while it was nice, the ammo costs for .380 if you can find is not worth it right now to me at least. A Ruger EC9 gives you a couple of more rounds, stronger bullet, (9mm), great price, cheaper ammo and, availability. The cheaper ammo helps to properly train and break in your gun.

If you buy a small Ruger auto it will most likely be a jam-o-matic. Ruger initial quality sucks, be prepared to send it back to the factory a couple-few times before it works right. My .380 LCP II has been sent back twice and needs to be sent back a third time. I won’t ever buy another Ruger, haven’t had this many problems with a gun since I bought a Kel-Tec. Lesson learned.

Horrible ccw, my fiancé bought one and it was her first gun some woman at buds convinced her it was what she needed. I get that the gun could be great as a home defense weapon. But the gun only has a “striker” safety which can be ok but I wouldn’t recommend it for a woman or someone carrying in a purse or backpack or anything for obvious reasons. The gun has no internal safety that anyone that I’ve talked to can find, normally there’s an inner firing pin safety but once the gun is cocked the firing pin is set at 90%. Also the slide is really difficult for a woman to pull back and numerous times I saw her try and pull the slide back with an empty mag and the slide didn’t catch and went back to firing position. Now here’s the thing, any one of those problems alone makes a gun bad, but add all 3 and you have something dangerous. The slide problem coupled with a safety for instance from me personally messing with the gun I heard the firing pin release numerous times while just cocking it to break in the spring. Obviously if it had chambered a round it would have fired. Now that could have been just a default in the gun but I doubt it because even in the manual it stresses to not carry chambered and the gun may go off if dropped meaning. The lack of internal safety makes it where the slide being released and not slowly lowered back can cause a discharge. So what I did was the next day contacted buds and they told me they’d give me used price for the gun which was a joke but I understand. Then we went to a gun store I personally picked and they gave me 90% of what I paid and sold her a new m&p ez 380 and I personally love this gun. So moral of the story buy an m&p ez if you want a 380. It’s 30-50$ more and a much better gun in every way.

I don't get why gun manufacturers don't put some sort of effort into their cases or boxes and packaging. Make cutouts in the foam or the boxes, place things nicely and organized. Firearms are cheap as hell to make, yet they charge several hundred dollars and aren't professional enough to put any effort into presentation. You pay $1,000 for a gun and it's just a generic box or case with the contents just thrown in at random.

Can you disable the magazine disconnect? How does it work, specifically?
@t77snapshot
@t77snapshot 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, most magazine disconnects can be modded to disable. However, this will likely void the warranty and may not be legal if you intend to carry in some states.

You said frame was same on both guns. Could you swap magazines & slides. In other words does the 22LR slide and magazine work on the frame that came with the 380. Or vice versa. I love your videos. Hope to stop and thank you so day from Pennsylvania. Thanks.

I had the old lcp then upgraded to new lcp2 in 380 when first released. I also have a Springfield xd mod2 45acp subcompact. I edc the lcp2 more often since so small and light. Love the lcp2 also like it in .22lr!

There's things I would like to know! First are springs interchangeable? And are they the same length? Have you tried using the 380 lcp spring on the 22lr?! Also are the magazines same length and width? Do the bottom part to magazine be interchangeable? They sell extensions for 380 lcp. And I bought different brands. One of my favorite is hyve +2 extension. If the 22lr can use same bottoms extension to magazines I'll definitely buy! Of you can answer any of these questions I'd appreciate it.

I have a question ....silly maybe, I have the 380 version and had Doug Turnbull CCH the slide looks great. Will the 380 slide work on the 22 version ....thinking maybe the barrel diameter is the same? thank you.... do you or does anyone know.

Too bad Ruger ruined with the a manual so-called "safety" lever and a magazine disconnect - neither of which the 380 version has or needs. Hey Ruger, how about a "Pro" version of the LCP II .22 with no mag disconnect or external safety lever?

The DB9GEN4 is the same size as the LCP 2 but in 9mm+P, same capacity and almost the same price all while being striker fired and having real sights. 380 ammo is just too expensive to justify practicing and all you need to do is be somewhat experienced in shooting to handle the absolute fresh Raped horse recoil of a 9mm that weighs exactly 1lb fully loaded lol.
