When I need a smaller carry gun due to weather or the need to deep conceal, I carry an LCPII. I've got big hands. I'm 6'3'' and I can shoot the LCPII very well. Yes, it kicks but to me its not punishing. Recoil is to be expected due to weight and how slim it is. Mine has well over 1000 rounds through it and its still 100% reliable and accurate. There are times when (Due to weather or where I will be) that I carry larger or smaller guns, but the LCPII gets carried quite often in the warm months. I like the Underwood +P Extreme Defender. A barrier blind round that will penetrate more than 12'' and perform as well as most hollow points. I wish Ruger would but the LCP MAX sites on it as an option. I have a laser on mine for low light as the standard sites are not the best in low light.

I was looking for a more recent comment here, and found it. A couple things to know, since I’ve had the LCP2 for almost 2 years now. It’s a great little pistol for concealed carry. The pocket holster that comes with it, is horrible for this reason: The hem on the holster is exactly centered over the mag release button. Now put the pistol in your pocket in the holster, lean into a table or whatever, and the mag release depresses. The hem on the holster does that. I saw this on an older video and tried it with my own. Yep, the mag releases easily as soon as you lean against the holster. Pretty spooky. The Ruger pocket holster sucks and it’s only because the hem is directly over the mag release button. Same holster as in this video, same one I had, but since yours is brand new, I don’t know if Ruger has changed this terrible design. Check to see if yours is this way. If so, watch how easy it is to release the mag in your pocket by leaning against something. Instead of throwing the pocket holster away, I screwed it to the side of my nightstand and it’s great as a bedside concealed holster. Horrible as a pocket holster though. A super easy and cheap replacement pocket holster I bought was the “Sticky” pocket holster. ( forget the model number but it lists the LCP as a compatible pistol) Almost identical to the Ruger pocket holster but a better pocket-gripping material, and that same hem is located in front of the mag release button instead of on top of it. Since the hem is thicker than the height of the button, it cannot be depressed by leaning the holster against something. The hem in front of the button prevents the button from touching any surface you lean into. With the Ruger pocket holster you can even release the mag by setting it on a table and pushing down on it. The Sticky holster won’t do that. Other that the crappy Ruger holster, the LCP2 380 is a great little pocket pistol. It’s snappy and not very accurate past 7 yards at the range but it’s not meant to be. Also, I painted the front sight with orange sight paint and the rear sight with two white dots. That helps a lot in seeing the tiny sights better. Anyway, have fun with your LCP2 and stay safe.

I put Hogue Rubber slip on grips and a seven shot magazine and it fits my hands good now. I bought the first ones to come out in 2016 and have had it since then. That is six years. I have carried it everyday, it was dropped a couple times without discharging the round so it is drop safe. I carry it all weather conditions riding a horse and though it has the easy to rust syndrome it is no more rusting than a colt 1911A1 would in the same conditions. I would buy another one if I could find one.

I have a Taurus TCP and a S&W M&P Bodyguard in 380 that are in my pocket backup EDC carry rotation. If I were to get a Ruger to put into the rotation I would go with the LCP Max. Thanks for the video.

Love my LCP 2 380. Goes in my pocket every day just like my wallet. Just keep them clean and lubed well. I usually carry a full size 9mm and the LCP 2 as a backup. But i ALWAYS have the LCP on me. Sights are pretty dead on for me. I pop leaves 🍃 floating on the pond water with mine a lot. Tiny little target to hit with a micro gun. But it does it

So I picked up a lcp 2 the other day and noticed my extractor on my gun is longer than previous lcp and lcp 2s extractor identical to yours because the lcp max has the same extractor I'm curious sometime down the line ruger changed it if you just Google pics you can tell I was wondering if you knew why they did and does it help with reliability thx have a good day

have the G42, kinda pocket carries, but still big. i like it because consistently gets nickle sized groups. thinking of the lcp2 as it looks like a real pocket carry pistol. had the smith bodyguard, but light strikes and failed mags right out of the box.

Good evening. I have a G42 as well and understand where you're coming from. Honestly, I think the LCP2 is an excellent pocket pistol. I personally find that carrying anything larger than the LCP2 to be too noticeable on my slim build. Besides, it's too hot & humid here in the Southeastern USA to try and accommodate carrying anything larger. Sure, it is snappier and isn't as refined as the G42, but it is a good pistol in it's own right. A friend of mine has a Bodyguard that I've shot plenty of rounds through. It's built well, but I can't stand the trigger and it is too snappy for my liking. That being said, I use the G42 for my winter edc and the LCP2 for my summer edc. Btw, make sure to invest in a decent pocket holster. The one that comes with the LCP2 isn't very good. Personally, I like DeSantis or Sticky pocket holsters. Take care👍

I bought this gun new last year and fired 50 rounds through it and the ejector blew off at the range. Sent it back to Ruger and they sent me a new slide and barrel. I took it to the range and after 25 rounds, the ejector blew out again. I called Ruger and they said, since the ejector is pressed in and not pinned in, that they have had some problems. Ruger sent me a new slide and barrel. I sold the gun ASAP. I bought the LCP Max, no problems whatsoever.

That's odd. I've had mine for 3 years and have had no issues. How do you like the max?
@catman5812 жыл бұрын
@@americanmade422 The max is a pretty good gun. The pluses are the larger capacity. I edc a S&W Bodyguard 380 in a DeSantis pocket holster. I like the Bodyguard better than the Ruger. The Bodyguard is more fun to shoot than the Max

one can buy an IWB belt clip that works very well. Pistol can clip on the pocket rim making it easy to draw.

Glock 42 is a sweet gun to shoot. It is twice as easy to shoot than LCP 1 or 2. Glock 42 is fun to shoot. LCP is not fun. But that’s not the point. It is so easy to carry that it’s gonna be with you, regardless how you are dressed. I like Keltec P32 for both carry and shooting. It’s the ideal between my G42 and LCP. With Armalaser, the KELTEC WINS. Best to use FMJ ammo.

Check out the LCP Max. It's 10+1 or 12+1 in .380. And it's virtually the same size and weight. Carries in the same holsters. Has proper night sights from the factory.

There's a roll pin in that hole, to retain the firing pin. I'm not sure why earlier LCPs aren't like that. Maybe a subtle design change over the years(?)

I have carried an LCP off and on for years. The original LCP was horrid. But it went bang every time. The LCP II is a much better gun. But I always go back to carrying a revolver. As easy as these micro guns are to carry I have never gotten comfortable with the function. With any semiautomatic. These tiny ones really need to have a good grip on them to function. I have never been involved in a shooting and I have never had to fire a gun in an intense situation so I can’t say this with any personal experience, but I think if I had to defend myself I would not want to have to have anything to deal with other than just pulling the trigger.

I'm of the opinion that carrying fmj is best in weaker calibers. Over-penitration is exactly what you need with them. The heavier bullet is what I carry. Soft lead tip with jacket is fine with me too, but I don't approve of HP in .380 or smaller.

Almost any CCI 22LR seems to penetrate well even if it doesn't expand if it was intended to but sometimes it will and will get the magic 12 to 18 inches in ballastic gelatin.
