I know this sounds odd but my Dad bought a couple of these for target practice and hated the trigger pull. He took off the grips and flushed them out with rubbing alcohol and then used a fat lubricating hypodermic and filled the whole empty cavity inside with high grade silicon grease. I mean he packed in it. Then he let them set for a few days then gave me one and he took the other and we did a thousand pulls on the trigger.....unloaded, not cocked. Just rubbing the metal inside back and forth over and over then he greased them again and another thousand. Voila........3 pound pull, smooth and clean. He flushed them clean, lubed them, put the grips back on and all done. Sounds odd I know, but damn....it worked.

At the first I thought I might be able to do this. But when you got to the small parts I know arthritis won't allow it. Lol. A man has to know his limitations. Very good How To video.

I did the polishing. Worked well. Can you provide the make, model, UPC code, or anything else for the spring that you settled on?

@@WalnutandSteel Thanks. Any idea of the spring rate? For example, about about 1/2 original.

Nibs, I've been doing some accuracy testing with my own MarkIV and I thought I would share my results with you and your Subs. First let me thank you for this tutorial. I gave my gun a much better trigger pull. Now for my test results. I like to try to find the most accurate pellets for any new gun I get, so I keep about 60 different kinds on hand for the testing. I tested over 50 in this gun. I clamped the barrel of the gun in a vice and shot 10 shot groups with each pellet, shooting at 13 yards in my basement. I've seen a number of airgun factory tour videos that show the guns' barrels being accuracy tested in this way, so I think it's legit. It doesn't tell you how "shootable" the gun is, since it doesn't assess the sights, trigger, grip angle and size, or the lock up of the barrel to the frame. It just tells you which pellets are likely to leave the barrel and fly straight to the same spot on a target and for me that's helpful to know. If a pellet that makes a small group in my test makes large groups when I fire it normally, it tells me the problem is with me or some other aspect of the gun's mechanics. Accurate pellets are my starting point. At any rate, I found 24 pellets that group under 1" at 13 yards and quite a few that grouped under 1/2 " and one under 1/4". Here's the data, hope you find it useful. BTW some of these pellets may not be made any longer. I have a couple of the Browning Buckmarks that I intend to do this trigger mod to and I will also be testing their accuracy in the same way. If you don't mind I'll post that data in a comment on one of your videos about that great little gun.@@WalnutandSteel

Just bought one of these and going to do the trigger work first. Thank you for the video! I've been looking for a good pistol for indoor use that's not loud. I shoot my CO2 pistols in the house sometimes, but man they have a bark to them when shooting inside the house, just too loud. Of course outside they're great though.

My wife and I just bought this gun. We sold our Ruger MK IV and have regretted it ever since. She really liked the way the Ruger felt, so... My first thought about the trigger, was as you said, except that I used unclean language. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for this video. I recently bought one of these and disassembled thanks to this video was able to reassmble after polishing the mating parts. My trigger is still horribly heavy. Did you end up using a lighter spring? I think I'll try that next. I really want to like this pistol but the trigger pull is making it impossible to like so far. Any further suggestions to improve the trigger?

Just picked this up about a week ago. I know you've had issues with the heavy trigger pull but im hitting those little metal targets ie ram, turkey, pig and chicken at 15 ft, all 8(2 sets) knocked down in 11 shots on the stock trigger. Maybe they have lightend the trigger. It shoots fantastic! Just thought id share. 😊

When ghe gun is cocked, is the little nub on top of the sear that engages the small fitting on the bottom of the spring? I've buffed & polished the daylights out of it - plus changed the sear spring -and the trigger pull is still @ 11#. I must be doing something wrong. I have gotten pretty good at disassembling / reassembling the pistol though. 🙄
@WalnutandSteel Жыл бұрын
The little metal piece on the piston that engages the seer is probably too sharp like a chisel and biting into the seer. Mine was like that too

I ended up returning mine after buying the Gamo P900 IGT it was spot on accurate right out of the box, much lighter trigger pull, much more powerful. I had a tin can I'd shoot with the Mark IV it would dent it a little. The Gamo P900 IGT with crossman premier pointed pellets went right thru it. The gun is right on target every time I shoot it. Light weight too. Mostly plastic but it honestly feels very solid and well built.

Man I wouldn't be able to do any of that, I have a marksman pistol that bbs got jammed into it so I opened it up and now no matter how much I try I can't put it back together, it's like when I am almost there something comes loose then I have to start over, I wish I could send it to someone to get it back to somewhat of what it was if not better.

I might be able to understand a strike if this air pellet pistol was a firearm - it is NOT a "firearm". It is not like your modification was some sort of unsafe procedure to extract 2000 FPS out of this little plinker. I too was looking for Part 2 of your video. It would be great to see what parts you polished, and just how you polished them. Please keep up the great work with your videos. Thank you very much for all the time, effort and sharing your knowledge. Very much appreciated.
