That Vaquro Montado .45 Colt needs a Birdshead grip as that'll fix it to be the ultimate concealed carry cowboy wheelgun for unintended / unasked-for social work. Good video!

Howdy...I've watched your channel for a while, we agree about 98% on big bore revolvers over auto pistols and I appreciate the reload ideas as well...this may be off topic from this video but I'm very interested in the leather attached to the hammer spring smoothing of the Colts and clones, you may have a video on that topic and I may have missed it, or YT forbids you to show it proper, anyway...I enjoy your take on revolvers or "pistols" as our great granpaws called them.

I think the big Special has a place when chambered in a lightweight piece but you gain nothing when it is chambered in a large piece. I think you did the right thing. Montado means mounted in Spanish. Possibly mounted in saddle… I know they use those in competitions, nice piece🤠

went and checked rugers site, that gun is made specifically for cowboy mounted shooting to be fired one handed on a horse. that one is a limited edition or it would have non slip rubber grips.

I used to like a Ruger Blackhawk and super Blackhawk and I still do as long as they're the three screw never had any desire to own a vaquero because I could never see any difference between them and the New model Blackhawk except fixed sights and I much prefer adjustable sights I've got a couple of old colts that are fixed sights but they just lay in the safe I felt the same way about the m77 Ruger and when they got lawyer proofed I wouldn't buy one like the mk2 I love the old Tang safety rugers they put the safety on those rifles right where God intended it to be so after that I don't have much use for Ruger if it's Tang safety and three screw yes after that not interested😢​@@plowboysghost
