RUGER PC CARBINE MAGPUL Backpacker stock ACCESSORY KIT INSTALLATION for railed hand guard

do you have the factory railed model and want to convert to the magpul backpacker stock? As you will see you shed almost a pound!
Models: 19115, 19117, 19121, 19122, 19124, and 19126 have a different barrel takedown block and need to be converted to the standard hand guard model.
you need the kit from Ruger (that sadly is not complete, does not have screw for hand guard [same size that holds action into stock])

I purchased the take down block for the magpul install before realizing my pc carbine came with it on the barrel already!!

What version of the pc carbine do you have? I think only the railed one has the odd one.

did you also see in my description that the kit is not complete, does not have screw for hand guard [same size that holds action into stock and it's the same as a ruger 10/22 stock bolt]) I bought a stock bolt off of eBay fror a 10/22 to finish it. I contacted ruger and hopefully they started to include that bolt.

Fair enough! I just wanted to cut weight. I still have the original stock and hand guard if I want to go back.

I just tried installing my new stock, and it WILL NOT go on! Had the same issue with having to spread the sides out, but I am going to have to go in with some mild sandpaper and hog out some other areas to get the receiver to go in.

I believe I had to spread the plastic forearm a bit. Is there another fit issue? I can try and get some photos if that would help.

Midwest industries over charges on their accessories complete or not. Magpul is the same thing on their QD mounts/cops.

Agree. Trying to find stuff that is not overpriced currently. Once upon a time Larue stuff was priced ok too. Magpul used to give qd sockets with stock too.

Yea I believe so I and I think it has a similar same rail so you would need that additional kit from Ruger.

Test pull-out force with magpul QD knockoffs. Some fail miserably. I'm not saying the real ones aren't overpriced.

Thanks for that tip! I’ll have to do some measurements and testing. Magpul should just include them again. They used to on my older stocks

Use Paracord instead of QD mounts. They're cheaper and more reliable. If they break create a new one.

Yes, the factory stock was heavier than magpul. Hand guard was not too heavy
