Up here in Canada, 60-75 Mph is sufficient as the max highway speed is 100 Kph. You can go 10-20 Kph over but if a cop pulls you over, it's his decision whether or not to give you a fine. I would love to buy one soon. They have a great reputation back in India where the climate is much hotter. The bikes over there have to endure harsher climate conditions. It would make a nice commuter bike and for short to medium distance travels. Maybe even more. Perhaps it may lack the fancy electronics/features like some of the higher priced bikes but who cares? Simplicity is key and less prone to expensive repairs. I like the K.I.S.S. rule. Keep It Simple and Stupid. It looks awesome and you get value for your money. It will be hard to beat as it is priced very well in a competitive market.

That is one dead sexy bike! 🤩 Any time we mess with the stock set up it’s going to affect mileage and performance, sometimes in a positive way that has negatives in another area. Heavy rotating mass is going to affect mileage and speed. That’s why they started bobbing bikes way back when. Riding off road I’d accept a loss in mileage and top speed for capabilities in the dirt and gravel.

@@forgottenmotorcycles Id have to agree with you. I wouldn’t go with wider tires, though I would put a more aggressive tread design. One issue with smaller diameter tires might be finding some of the more popular 50/50 rated tires. The Hunter 350 is designed and marketed for urban riders so I can see where RE fits them with the 17” wheels and street tires. Now the Scram… I’d love to see one of those modified into an ultimate scrambler. Back in the day, RE used to sell scrambler kits for the Bullets. I always wanted to put one together but that was a time in life when I couldn’t make those things happen.

This is your personal choice, but I'd strongly suggest the latter. You will learn to be a better rider starting on the smaller bike, plus (and I know this is personal preference) smaller bikes are a lot more fun to ride! Ego/machismo/bigger-is-better-mentality is hard to overcome, and I succumbed 4 decades ago when I started riding, but when I downsized from a 900 to a 400 I learned so much more and had a whole lot more fun. In any case, if it is between those two, I congratulate you on your refined taste. And whatever you choose, good luck and have fun!

It's a great looking bike but looks alone don't make it worthy off road. That shorty front fender is worthless for fending off dirt and mud. Plus the foot pegs are junk for off road use , they need to be replaced with some steel motocross pegs. The knobby tires are a nice addition. The Hunter 350 is a great bike and a great value as a stock bike. With after market options like tires , skid plate , foot pegs and so on the owner can have a bike that fits his needs and really turn some heads.

Hunter is an excellent motorcycle, for sure. I'm gonna have to defer to you experts on whether or not its any good off road. Bikes owner is a farmer that uses the bike to check on his mules. Wahoo!
