10 Tips for Phase 1 Loot Prio

There has to be a payoff for his time and the honest truth is, short and concise videos with general info will get more clicks and views. As more people get into the expansion, I believe the interest for theorycrafting could be greater. But Wrath is a fairly shallow expansion in terms of complexity in PvE, compared to later expansions at least.

Its a very rare raid that will bother gearing an enhancement shaman in t7. They are just not very good in t8. The whole point of gearing in t7 is to be strong at the start of t8 and so on. As such the as a RL you want the classes you know will pump the most if they have the gear in t8 to get geared. This is made even more important because t8 is imo the hardest. since you are going to have no problem clearing naxx with just a handful of almost naked rogues anyway you don't need to gear classes based on whats strong in t7 at all. Teir 8 is abit different because ToGC is so freaking easy. in t8 you are gearing to just make the t8 content less painful and faster. Teir 9 tho is once again back to getting ready for t10. As for torch I would almost always give it to good healers, they are much harder to find and replace. You're never sad about a boomie or ele shaman leaving your raid grp, you can just get another mage or warlock they are both over populated classes for the very limited slots most raids give them. As such finding another caster dps never takes long. A great healer on the other hand can carry the raid and be a massive pain to replace.

@@luizperez3357 First please understand that Warmane is really an exception. This and most other teir lists are based on that server. Its been out a long time and its pay to win. Most people playing on it now don't even remember t7/8/9 and base all dps off bis icc gear or a bis geared Sim. Ret and Enhance are in the same place but enhance is better overall. Their place/dps on this list assumes they are in bis for every teir and for example have shadowmorn. Ofc that is not going to happen in liver because most guilds will only get 1-2 legendaries if they are lucky. They should in theory go to Warriors who get the most out of them. On Warmane you can just buy Shadowmorn from the cash shop. With enhance there single target is ok but what you find is that unholy DK is given loot prio over other 2h weapon users for t8 because its aoe is simply the best. Spellhance is only a thing on Warmane, its not on Dalaran and I would for that reason assume it wont be in classic. Much like Affi warlock able to snap shot a corruption and maintain it for the whole fight, or Feral druid able to proc cc off food buffs, hots, bleed ticks and just about everything instead of just attacks. My point is Warmane scripting is terrible, everyone who plays on there knows it. Part of that terrible scripting is why Enhance shammy can deal some decent damage. I assume blizzard servers will be properly scripted, my prediction is that hunter, warrior and mage will be in much shape than they are on Warmane. TLDR take any content creator thats talking about Wotlk based on Warmane with a pinch of salt. Someone like ScottieJaye is a much better sorce of relyable info. The pvp spec's and off specs are much improved but the issue is they only preform once they have bis for that phase, that is what carries them. And since this is not Warmane gear will be limited making things like enhance look worse than they really are. If you want to play a great spell+melee class play DK, its just a hell of a lot better. If you want a good idea of how classes will preform look up the logs from back in the day.

@@luizperez3357 To your next point in terms of ranged dps, you will have 3 mages and warlocks for every 1 raid spot. TBC was so ranged/caster heavy and a lot of them will not reroll. Wotlk is a melee xpack. You will often only have 5-8 ranged/caster dps in your entire 25man raid. In 10 man you don't have more than 2-3. Clearly this means you will have a lot of very good ranged dps early on doing what they can to prove they deserve a spot. Because balance and feral druids are ok now, and Enhance and Ele Shaman and Prot Pally ect. You will have many healer mains that decide to play for example kitty dps. The result is healers are the hardest raid spots to fill in Wotlk. You really can't find good ones without hassle. As such you give them the loot because you know that, even if you make your balanced druid wait to get his, there is simply no chance he will leave the guild/raid. You healer could leave and have 10 other guilds asking him to join that same hour. TLDR we are going from a game where every raid is full of ranged dps to a game where that is not the case. A lot of healers will be looking to try out their classes dps spec instead of heal. This makes melee fairly high value because not many people are currently melee, healers very high value and ranged easy to replace.

I think realistically spellhance should only be played with people you already know. It's an alternate playstyle that seeks gear which is already spread thin between a bunch of classes and is one that not many people know the BiS gear of. So there's bound to be a bunch of seneless drama around it. Also does it do that much more DPS than standard enha?

you mention at the start that demo will get anything they want first pretty much, but a max spellpower set looks pretty different in some of the slots compared to a regular personal dps set that an affliction would go for. for example giving malygos legs or boots, pennant cloak or the KT ring to a demo over an affliction lock makes no sense. i feel like demo lock gearing is going to be one of the major sources of loot drama for many guilds tbh, so maybe something worth taking a deeper dive into.

If you level solo with quests ect wf will be better. Higher burst and more mana regen thanks to wf and shamanistic rage. Spellhance will be good t7 and t8 raids but you need a paladin who keeps wisdom up or else you run into mana problems.

The issue with spellhance wanting stuff like dying curse is not as simple "bis is bis" you mentiom how staffs should go feral>hunter because they gain more value which is true but then fail to realise its same with dying curse for spellhance over any other caster. Spellhance gains very small dps increase with dying curse over any other caster. Somr casters get 7x more dps over their 2nd BIS comparred to spellhance. So it does feel super biased if you mention it for the fist wep/staff but then say dying curse should go to spellhance. Sure once all the other casters have it, then it can go to spellhance, but if we talking LC and we prio items to classes that benefit more than spellhance should NEVER get prio on dying curse over all the other classes

I mean just to clarify that and it really just closes the argument door on people not really understanding it. Thanks for the videos as always appreciate it. I functionally was in the same boat initially about phase 1 (Boomkin), in that where do I make trade-offs in gear to help or rather save others cause I don't start really launching off the dps until later phases with massive amounts of spell crit. So looking at small downgrades like the Malygos-10 staff for instance is one way around this. The trinket is the tough one, I've seen some arguments about just stacking sp on the demo lock and completely avoiding hit altogether. Curious to see how all that plays out. There will be a ton of more tech coming once we actually get in there as well Im sure. Thanks again brother and keep up the great work!

You want to give it to your most reliable holy Paladin if you want to progress faster in later phases. If you don't have one then I think resto druid is your 2nd best option, not sure tough. If you don't have either (idk how that's possible :D ) then just your most loyal/oldest healer or an officer will do in my opinion Edit: don't even think about giving it do Disc Priests :D they do more shielding than healing so it's not so useful for them

I get your point about dying curse freeing up other slots… BUT you should be stacking them with trinkets with +sp instead given that’s your 2nd largest slot for sp which is what gives the buff.

EVERYTHING that was not completely specific to us, we had to wait behind 4 mages 3 locks an spriest and a boomy to get. IF we got one of those items early, council made it seem like it was a huge sacrifice. Mostly talkin rings trinkets necks backs MH and OH. I'm lookin to get into a guild doin EPGP or DKP for wrath. I am so sick of LC. I get it, that LC is designed to funnel gear to the big performers and critical roles like tanks and healers but if your guild isnt on the bleeding edge competing for top slots in speed runs, LC might not be the right system for your guild, and it is not the worst thing in the world to have to re-evaluate your loot system partway through an expac if its not right for the guild.

Eh... the gearing in wow was contrived and meant to keep you paying a sub. It's a slot machine. It was literally designed that way. If it hadn't been... raids would have been over in 2 weeks when people figured this scam out. Blizzard literally back then stated they HIRED people to help them design it for addicts. if this game had been designed legit.... the game would have given you a piece of gear for your class EVERY TIME you killed it. Then the phase would have literally lasted maybe ONE month. Cmon... how many times do you need to kill something in a video game before you've "beaten" the content???
