Dude I don't know if you noticed but I think these Ruike budget knives are making a comeback. KZbin recommend this video to me in Feb 2022. I keep seeing posts of Ruike knives on Instagram.

Far and away the BEST 30 dollar knife I've ever purchased. Ruike for sure has their shit together. I have the black stonewash and ordering this one next week. I'm EXTREMELY impressed.

Stats and price at 17:42. Spot-on review. Thumb studs are too short, making them difficult and unreliable to use. Still a great knife with the flipper. Land 910 at $20 is similar with good studs and no flipper.
@TheKnifeBeater5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Chad. I believe they are both Sandvik steel too. Maybe they should have done away with the thumb studs altogether on the 801 and just have the flipper. Thanks for watching.

Great review and I’ve been trying to find the actual precise pronunciation for this company and I did finally find it on their corporate website /reik/ and then at the blade show video from their spokesman... he referred to the company as rake as in raking your leaves! What have you heard? Thanks again for the great video; I just placed my order!!!

You only want a lock bar insert if the lock is titanium as titanium rubbing on steel can become sticky.
@TheKnifeBeater7 жыл бұрын
You're right John, a lock bar insert is not necessary here. I'm just accustomed to the insert and over travel stop all being one piece. Thank you for watching John.

I picked mine up at Gearbest, and if memory serves me well, it was in the $15 - 20.00 range. Of course, I had to wait about 5 agonizing weeks for it to arrive. Lots of people pay a little more on Amazon (and you might want to try eBay if you don't have Prime) simply because, we're there to be a defect in the product, you'll get the replacement faster. 😋
@gordonhood62657 жыл бұрын
I was pleased to see how well it faired when compared to the 5 knives you showed which are $85. to $125. None of the 5 are rated anywhere near as highly as the 801.Thanks for the review. Pronounced "RAKE'"

Well, it's a good little knife with incredible action. i like to compare knives against more expensive ones just to see how they match up, the P801 did very well. Thanks for watching gordon.

@TheKnifeBeater6 жыл бұрын
It is a shame gordon, it really is. We (USA) have our moments though. If you happened to get in on the Kershaw Link and/or Dividend with M390 steel. Around $80 a piece, both USA made. Just an incredible value.

This is my go to gentlemen's folder. Ruike and even more, Real Steel are killing it. I think they compare favorably to the Chinese made Kershaws and CRKT's using 8cr13mov.
@TheKnifeBeater7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely srg, they are killin it right now. Actually I think the Ruike P801 is a little better than Chinese Kershaw's and most of CRKT's stuff, and I really like Kershaw. Now Kershaw's USA knives are another story because those are pretty good. Thanks for watching srg.

Lovely knife, but I would say that the SRM Land 9103, at half the price, would probably qualify for best bargain. I asked Advanced Knife Bro for his opinion, since he reviewed both, and he found the knives almost identical in regards to fit and finish, and he thought they might very well have been made in the same factory. I happen to own the SRM, and it is the very best of all my budget knives.
@TheKnifeBeater6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Land 910 and the Ruike P801 are very similar knives in many ways, but the prices I've seen for the Land on Amazon are $29.50 for the blackwash version: goo.gl/gSd1FJ and $29.50 for the G-10 version: goo.gl/kXNAFD so where can I buy it for $15? The blade steel on the Ruike is 14C28N and on the Land it's 12C27. While yes both are a Sandvik steel with very similar performance, 14C28N is considered a small step up over 12C27. I am by no means a steel snob, there is a heck of a lot more to a knife than just the blade steel. Thanks for watching and for sharing your opinion Coca, much appreciated.
@Evil56397 жыл бұрын
I love this knife. Especially for the price point. The only thing I can knit pick about this knife is the thumb studs. It's a ball bearing flipper, why even have the thumb studs? I guess its a plus to have options lol, but I think the knife would look more attractive without them. Anyways good review!
@TheKnifeBeater7 жыл бұрын
I hear ya Evil. I have to admit though, I like knives with multiple deployment options. You're right though, thumb studs definitely not needed here. I use the flipper on the P801 99% of the time. Thank you for sharing Evil.
@J.sh_CDN6 жыл бұрын
The Knife Beater how do the thumbstuds work though? At this price, i almost feel like buying one to be a flipper and buying another to grind off the flipper and make a cheap gentleman's knife. I had a Sanrenmu 910, stainless framelock in 12c27, but it looked like a blatant sebenza copy. This looks like it could be a good replacement, with better clip, better steel, and a unique design
@TheKnifeBeater6 жыл бұрын
The thumb studs don't really get in the way. If you really don't like the look of them, they would be pretty easy to grind off. I like your idea about having one with thumb studs and the other without. Man, that would require surgeon-like steadiness. Thanks for watching Joshua.

The first one of these I had was riddled with issues. The one I got today seems flawless at the moment. Kind of worries me a bit because I want to gift a couple but I'm afraid the gift ones might be as flawed as the first one.
@TheKnifeBeater6 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's true, I would be a little skeptical giving them away too.. What kinda probs did you have? Thanks for watching Woodland Tactical.
@Eldofarmboy6 жыл бұрын
Here is my video on the first one I handled. The centering was way off, closing it sometimes had a mouse trap effect because the detent would catch on the blade so I'd have to push harder to close it, and it had some blade play. The fit and finish was just godawful which was a shame because it's a gorgeous blade and I was looking forward to testing it but upon inspection I had to deem it unsafe and send it back to my buddy Jack Farmboy who had loaned it to me. His first one was apparently flawless but a reviewer in our circle broke it so he ordered the one in my video and Jack sent it to me still sealed in the package so I found a fresh out of the box knife with all these flaws. I believe he has it dialed in now though. Anyway, hopefully the one I got will remain flawless kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioS2aoZvnLmopc0

You don't need a lock bar insert for a steel frame lock. They put them on titanium ones to extend the life of the lock bar because the steel of the knife is harder than the titanium and it will wear out the lock bar after a while.

rake.
@nolimitsamputee52196 жыл бұрын
Why are all the you tube knife reviewers constantly complaining about or mispronouncing Ruike? One reviewer said it cannot be pronounced as Rake because he had never seen rake spelled that way. Do 5 minutes of research and find out how to say the name. The world has many languages and they don't all try to use English. Knife makes don't have use English if they have their own native tongue.
@TheKnifeBeater6 жыл бұрын
Instead of worrying about how reviewers pronounce Ruike, you may want to take that 5 minutes to proof read your own comments before posting: "Knife makes don't have use English if they have their own native tongue."
