At 15, I was there for 28 days in the summer of 1991. I grew up about 30 min from there in Westland. At 7:00 mark when he's looking out the widow that was my view maybe a floor or 2 higher as I was on the 5th floor. They would lock you down at 6pm every night which was early so i would cry for 3 or 4 hours till they brought snack, n repeat till i fell a sleep. It was traumatic being there n gut wrenching to watch this video. Luckily now I'm a 1k miles away

Thank you so much for providing a history of the places you explore! For being in Detroit I'm surprised there wasn't more vandalism or destruction. Thanks for another great video! Can't wait for more!

Is that place open for anyone to go inside and look around? If so I'm surprised no one was living in there.

went today to check it out, it's attached to a building that's still in use, along with two barbed wire fences around it. I didn't see any obvious ways in :/

Oh man the memories are flooding back. I grew up in that shit hole from 12-18 years old off and on. I was held on 3-south. . Forest ave . was the juvenile court still right next door? Some of the worst days of my childhood

I was at this place in early 90s. Antiquated trash. All day we sat in blue platic chairs watching cartoons on a tiny tv. I was there three times and never seen anything.
