Sorry, no. Their Ed Sullivan appearance, warts and all, outshines it a bit. At least on EdS, you can hear Bill Wyman.

The Stones are clearly THE most dangerous, menacing and thought provoking group within the context of pop music at the time. Just scary enough. Off the hook, indeed. Very impressive.

Do you write for Rolling Stone Ragazine? The most dangerous band was Paul Shaffer of the Letterman show. And the most dangerous thinker on the Left is probably Naom Chomsky.
@jonithanadamweiss
@jonithanadamweiss Жыл бұрын
@@oppothumbs1 Yes, I do in fact right for RS. Always. I’m not familiar w/ the artist Naom Chomsky. What are his biggest songs? You don’t mean Bram Tchaikovsky do you? He’s fucking awesome! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKergIOPgc-YqpY But he’s no Sir Mick Jagger (and neither is this Naom Chompsky, dude whoever he is.) Any way, as a highly paid rider at Rolling Stone, it’s my job know about these things and the vinyls the kids are buying and dancing to these days. So, you can take it for granite (no pun intended) that mothers still need to hide their daughters when The Rolling Stones come to town. Btw, Paul Schaefer and I share the same barber. No offense but the only song they ever rote that was truly dangerous was Double Shot of my Baby’s Love which is not to be confused w/ the Swinging Medallions version… which is also pretty good. Ok, Mr Oppenheimer have a great week and rock on. Party hardy and remember, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere. YOLO! 🤘🤪

The slogan "The Weekend Starts Here" in the opening credits of "Ready, Steady, Go!" referred to the fact that it was broadcast early on Friday evenings (I think it may have been around 6 P.M.), early enough so that young Britishers could watch the show before heading out for Friday-night dates.

The show's producers, Rediffusion London held the metropolitan London franchise on weekdays for Britain's commercial ITV network from ITV's founding in 1955 until 1968. During those years, ATV held the weekend franchise in London (and weekdays in the English Midlands). (ATV lost the London weekend ITV franchise in 1968 but it's Midlands franchise was expanded to seven days a week) In 1968, Rediffusion merged with Associated British Corporation's TV interests (which previously held the weekend ITV franchises in the Midlands and Northern England) to form a new company, Thames Television, which became the new weekday franchise for ITV in London (but only until 5 P.M. on Fridays, when the new weekend franchise, London Weekend Television, took over through the weekend).

EVEN BACK THEN THEY NEEDED CROWD CONTROL FOR THE STONES TO PROTECT THEM FROM THE 15 YR OLD GIRLS THAT WOULD HAVE RIPPED THE SHIRT OFF THEIR BACK, BUT IF YOU WERE ONE OF THOSE GIRLS AND YOUR NOW ABOUT 68-70 YRS OLD, THAT WOULD BE A HELL OF A SOUVENIR TO HAVE SHOWN OFF OVER THE YRS.
