Any plans to do a video on deponent verbs?

Learning Latin from any app was really hard and complicated. But your videos are helping me a lot. Btw I'm a biology student who loves learning variable languages. ..I was thinking of which language I should start with, being an Indian I'm already known to and fluent with 4 Indian languages including English. But then I thought that learning Latin would be of great advantage to me as I love biology too....and also, it's such an interesting language to learn.😁❤ I'm very thankful to you!❤ Love from India..🇮🇳

I think you meant "various" languages. Studying sciences works both ways --- medical terms help with Latin and Ancient Greek.

What about first person plural imperative (let's do something)?
@johnhunter89493 жыл бұрын
I am no expert but I believe that would fall under the Hortatory Subjunctive. Here is some info dcc.dickinson.edu/grammar/latin/hortatory-subjunctive

So in everyday speech was it more common to use the jussive subjunctive for examples like "ea prima piacula sunto"? Also, regarding negative imperatives, I've heard the imperative is never used, only present or perfect subjunctive with ne. But I've seen examples like "Equo ne credite, Teucri!" - "Do not trust the horse, Trojans!". Can you comment on that?

Stay tuned for prohibitions (negative commands), that’s the next rule. The third person jussive is a lot more common to do than a third person imperative, but I haven’t done any studies on your first point.

3rd person present imperative is just actually 3rd person present subjunctive instead

See the jussive.

Apparently there’s a 2nd person present passive imperative Like amare = be loved
@latintutorial3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this form is identical to the 2nd person passive indicative (-re being an alternate form for -ris).

nothing about the passive forms? in deponants
@latintutorial4 жыл бұрын
Nope! Forms aren’t really the point of these rules videos.

Ave victoriam?
@latintutorial3 жыл бұрын
Not really. Ave doesn't take an accusative. Instead, if you're trying to say "Hail victory", you'd use the vocative, "ave, victoria!"
