THAT's what a video I keep looking for! Different styles, different lengths, and different ball choices make this video much more insightful and useful than ever. I usually bowl on the medium and medium-short pattern in the league. As a two-handed bowler, I really agree with the ball choice of Jimmo. Love you all and your insightful videos!

Thank you so much for this lesson and the way you balance the examples. Including both styles are the best because it doesn't matter what your style is, both apply. It is not fair that many lessons are taught to everyone but just one-handed guys are on the lane. I can use both styles, but I prefer to use two handed one because of health issues. Here we watch how to select the arsenal to deal with one of each different pattern lengths according to your style and your DNA (PAP, REV, SPEED, TILT, ROTATION). The Rule of 31 can suggest you to find your "exit point", but when you are about to play, you should have already known which ball to throw and after transition begins what to do and if it is needed, change ball. With this lesson the strategy is covered which is an essential part of the game. The whole video series are extraordinary, they cover all you need to succeed in this game, except the physical training, this is up to us. JR Pro Shop: now it is time to cover "The Mental Game" part 1, don't you think so? Gracias y saludos desde México.

Great Video gentlemen. Awesome information. Sometimes the struggle is what ball to throw when. What to start with. This video really gives great info about what ball to start with. How do you know when to switch balls? Do you try and play the same line with a different ball or just keep moving or adjusting speed?
@jrproshop3 жыл бұрын
The adjustments are up to you, what ever you feel more comfortable with. As for ball changes, it's when the ball isn't going through the pins properly (leaving lots of corner pins when hitting the pocket)

Medium to long I enjoy the most. Matches up very well with my rev rate and opening up the lanes is never a bad option as long as I have the right ball in my hand. I had to recently chase my idol synergy with my nuclear cell on a ths for league. Synergy would not carry where the nuclear carried every shot besides the two ten pins I left lol. As always guys, superb informative video and keep up the great work.

Being you guys are all young, curious as to what speed you all are averaging, and what your thoughts are, of possible equipment for seniors bowling in house leagues? Random side question, whenever you release your ball quickly and smoothly, it makes the popping noise. However, if you dont always pop does that mean you’re not getting out of it with proper fundamentals or is it just a matter of poor fitment?
@jrproshop3 жыл бұрын
Great question. When Jimoo releases the ball and it makes that popping noise, it is usually because he is releasing the ball with higher axis rotation. By switching his hand position, it usually results in his fingers having a tighter grip to get more on the ball.

I bowl on typical house patterns. Do you feel the rule of 31 applies on THS? During the men's league it seems that the best place to have your ball is around board 8 at the end of the pattern of 41 feet at least for right handers. As transition sets in just move 2:1 left and keep going as needed to keep the ball in the pocket. It's almost like targeting way down lane at board 8 and just changing your angle to that target... Excellent video this morning...
@brandondriley3 жыл бұрын
It applies and is a good place to start although the high pattern ratio of a THS may sometimes take precedence
@bowlingxp83453 жыл бұрын
Actually the rule of 31 applies more accurately to the "exit point", not the "breakpoint". Meaning it is where the ball should be exiting the pattern. Break point is the furthest right (for a right hander) the ball goes before going left. And they are not the same thing , they just are equal sometimes.

Its weird if they don't tell you (the oil guy should know), but then you guess. You throw a ball slowly, mabe a pearl, and watch where if flips.
@Bamm1392 жыл бұрын
@@bowlingxp8345 I use the Rule of 31. They don't tell at us at my 2 houses or tournament I bowl. I believe a THS is between 38' - 42' in pattern length. Using my benchmark (IQ Tour), I start at 38' - 31= 7 board exit (not breakpoint), then add 7 boards for feet position. Target 7 board at the arrows, position left edge of left sliding foot (righty) on board 14. Since I don't throw a straight ball, I add 2 boards left with feet, 1 left at target (Ft = 16 T=8). This will get you to the same 7th board exit at the end of the pattern. For 39' move everything left 1 board, 40' everything left 1 more board, and so on each move until 42' if you get that far before finding the line. There is forgiveness 1 or 2 boards right or left at the exit point. Once I learned about the Rule of 31 with a focal point at the pins (usually some spot on the 6 pin) my strike percentage has increased and I've added 2 more 300 games to my USBC stats. Every bowling style is different. I'm a stroker/ tweener and this works for me.
