I dont know if it'll be relevant to your playthrough, but I figured out entirely by accident that naval gunfire can totally bombard and destroy coastal airbases

It's nice that you fixed it it's not 9 seconds anymore HURAYY nice video as an armature who have recently found this game I learn a lot every time I watch one of this war videos of you. P.S: It will be greatly appreciated if you would upload your videos 480p or non 60 frame version of 720p because as an Iranian I have to connect to 2 or 3 vpns to be able to watch this videos and the connection will slow down so watching in 720p60 isn't an option and 360p is just horrible to watch with no details. Thank you

sir can you share why wont you make refit or upgrade them rather than making new ones from scrath, i would love so see you make more new ones ps i watch the whole series today and it was great

At some points new designs become more effective. Innovations in hull form, engine etc mean new designs become much more weight efficient, and some items are very expensive to upgrade (e.g. autoloaders). On destroyers in particular, you get to build progressively bigger ones, which end up carrying a heavier punch.
